Jordan Spieth was the man of honor at the Masters Champions Dinner

Jordan Spieth was at the head of the room last night as he hosted the annual Masters Champions Dinner for the first time.

The 22-year-old Texan the traditional winner's place as both host and the guy who got the tab, as he hosted more than two dozen past champions, including emcee Ben Crenshaw, and Augusta National chairman Billy Payne.

As is tradition, the winner gets to pick the menu, and Spieth went with a main course of Texas-style barbecue, including beef brisket, chicken and pork ribs, along with sides of baked beans, bacon and chive potato salad and mixed vegetables. The dessert was a simple warm chocolate chip cookie a la mode.

The defending champion said before the dinner on Tuesday that he didn't expect to do a whole lot of talking.

“I imagine the chairman (Billy Payne) will maybe ask me to say a few words," Spieth said. "I’ll certainly think of something that makes sense, given the timing. But I’ll probably do less talking and more listening.”
