Patriots’ Gronkowski expected to be limited in Super Bowl

When Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard took down New England Patriots Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski in the AFC title game last weekend, Gronkowski came out of it with a sprained ankle with ligament damage and he had to leave the stadium wearing a walking boot.

The Boston Herald reports that though the Pats didn't practice Wednesday, the league required New England and its Super Bowl opponent, the New York Giants, to turn in participation reports anyway. According to that report, Gronkowski would have sat out any practice that actually took place Wednesday, anyway.

The Herald has it that Gronkowski, who had 1,327 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns this past season, is "expected to play" in the Super Bowl, "but he might be limited."

The Giants listed running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), receiver Hakeem Nicks (shoulder), and safety Tyler Sash (concussion) as players that wouldn't have taken part in practice Wednesday, the Herald reports.
