Yes, Nyjer Morgan will throw out a ceremonial first pitch in the playoffs for Milwaukee

It's been 12 years since popular center fielder Nyjer Morgan delivered a game-winning single in the 10th inning to give the Milwaukee Brewers a playoff series win, but Tony Plush is the one coming home this time.

Morgan, and presumably his alter ego, is expected in Milwaukee for Wednesday's Game 2 of the National League wild-card series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the same opponent the Brewers defeated in a thrilling fifth game of the National League Division Series back in 2011.

He'll throw out the ceremonial first pitch, just as he did in 2018 for the Brewers in their playoff series opener against Colorado ... a game that ended with a walk-off single from Mike Moustakas.

On Tuesday, it'll be Bob Uecker — essentially the face of the Brewers organization for five decades — who's expected to deliver the ceremonial first pitch.

Morgan, acquired before the 2011 season, proved to be an outstanding addition that year, when the Brewers also won the National League Central. He batted .304 with a .357 on-base percentage and captured the city's imagination with his fun-loving antics and audacious postgame interviews.

In the 10th inning of Game 5, after the Brewers had lost a 2-1 lead in the ninth, current Brewers skipper Craig Counsell lined out, but Carlos Gómez singled and stole second against Diamondbacks closer J.J. Putz, and Morgan then scorched a ball back up the middle to win the game, 3-2.
