Yante Maten - By the Numbers

At the 18:25 mark in the first half of Saturday’s game against Kentucky, Georgia fans found themselves holding their breath. Junior forward Yante Maten was part of a collision and fell to the ground and clutched his knee and then later limped off the court.

He would not return to the court but he did return to the sideline, prompting a round of cheers from the concerned fans. As it stands now, Maten is unlikely to play any of the remaining games in the regular season.

Maten has been the Bulldogs’ best player this season as well as one of the top players in the conference. His numbers only tell part of the reason why he will be missed.

This season, Maten has led Georgia in many different categories… In 19 of 27 games this season, Maten has led or tied for team lead in points. He has also led or tied for the team lead in steals six times, in assists once, 13 times in rebounds as well as 13 times for blocks.

Check out where Maten’s numbers rank among his teammates and in the SEC as well.
