Wrapping up the area round for El Paso squads in the UIL soccer playoffs
The area round of the UIL playoffs is in the books and El Paso teams found many successes.
Class 4A
Boys
Bowie defeated Dumas, 4-2, behind two goals from Abraham Chaparro and one each from Kevin Hernandez and Ethan Escarcega.
Austin took care of Perryton, 4-2. Shahid Alvarez scored twice and Abraham Lara and Edwin Enriquez both scored a goal.
Riverside held off Wichita Falls, 2-1, and will face Bowie in the regional quarters at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eastwood HS.
San Elizario defeated Wichita Falls Hirschi, 4-0, and will face Austin in the regional quarters. Eduardo Marquez scored two goals to lead the Eagles.
Girls
San Elizario defeated Graham, 2-1, behind goals from Angela Chairez and Alexandra Hernandez.
Bowie lost, 5-0, to Wichita Falls.
Class 5A
Boys
Bel Air lost, 2-1, to Amarillo Caprock.
Burges defeated Abilene High in PK's after a 1-1 tie in regulation and overtime.
Del Valle lost, 2-1, to Lubbock-Cooper in overtime.
Andress lost, 3-2, in OT to Lubbock Monterey.
Girls
Del Valle lost, 2-1, to Amarillo Tascosa.
El Paso High lost, 3-2, in OT, to Lubbock Coronado.
Chapin lost, 3-1, to Amarillo High. Jocelynne Diaz-Torres scored Chapin's goal.
Andress lost to Abilene Wylie in OT, 3-2
Class 6A
Girls
Eastlake lost, 4-0 to Byron Nelson.
Boys
Pebble Hills edged Keller, 2-1, for first area title.
Montwood defeated Euless Trinity, 2-1. Nicolas Bustillos and Carlos Carillo each scored goals. The Rams will play Pebble Hills in the regional quarters at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pebble Hills.
Eastlake defeated Southlake Carroll, 2-0.
