WNC top performers from Week 4 of spring sports: Multiple no-hitters lead the way

Here are the Western North Carolina athletes who had a terrific performance this week in spring sports.

Baseball

Carter Burnette, Asheville High: Burnette went 2-4 with a double and three RBIs in a 12-3 win vs. Enka.

Kyson Rinnert, McDowell: Rinnert threw a shutout while striking out eight batters in a 1-0 win vs. North Buncombe.

Cason Jones, Moutain Heritage: Jones went 2-3 with a home run and two RBIs in an 8-2 win vs. Rosman.

Ethan Orr, Robbinsville: Orr went 1-4 with a home run and three RBIs in a 9-2 win vs. Cherokee.

Micah Simpson, Roberson: Simpson went 1-4 with three RBIs in a 5-3 win vs. Reynolds.

Amani Perin, West Henderson: Perin went 2-3 with two home runs and five RBIs in a 10-0 win vs. Madison.

Truitt Manuel and Logan Oliver, West Henderson: Manuel and Oliver pitched a no-hitter, striking out 15 batters combined.

Softball

Sadie Jo Hunter, North Buncombe: Hunter tossed a shutout while striking out 12 batters in a 4-0 win vs. Madison.

Addie Mull, Smoky Mountain: Mull went 2-4 with a home run and five RBIs in a 14-9 win vs. Hayesville.

Haley Littrell, West Henderson: Littrell went 2-4 with two home runs and two RBIs in a 12-2 win vs. Pisgah.

Girls Soccer

Gabriella Kilgore, McDowell: Killgore tallied two goals in a 2-1 win vs. South Caldwell.

Amelia Smith, North Buncombe: Smith made four saves in a 3-0 win vs. Avery County.

Eliza Jackson, North Buncombe: Jackson recorded two goals.

Wednesday

Baseball

Mason Smith, East Henderson: Smith went 2-2 with a double and three RBIs in a 16-5 win vs. Owen.

Caden Ingle, Erwin: Ingle went 2-2 with a double and four RBIs in a 14-1 win vs. Polk County.

Nick Schultz, Erwin: Schultz went 2-3 with a home run and three RBIs.

Kyle Shaheen, Hayesville: Shaheen went 1-2 with a home and three RBIs in a 9-8 win vs. Union County (Ga.).

Amani Perin, West Henderson: Perin went 2-3 with a home run and three RBIs in a 19-1 win vs. Smoky Mountain.

Grant Putnam, West Henderson: Putnam struck out eight batters while allowing only a hit, a walk and one earned run.

Truitt Manuel, West Henderson: Manuel went 2-3 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Softball

Sydney Snowden, Tuscola: Snowden went 2-2 with a triple and three RBIs in a 16-0 win vs. East Henderson.

Girls Soccer

Rell Bound, Reynolds: Bound scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win vs. Enka.

Kate Pratt, Roberson: Pratt netted a hat trick and added an assist in a 9-0 win vs. North Buncombe.

Julia Wells, Tuscola: Wells made six saves in a 2-0 win vs. Franklin.

Catherine Barton, West Henderson: Barton recorded two goals in a 3-0 win vs. East Henderson.

Hayes Hillier, Asheville High: Hillier went 2-3 with a double and four RBIs in a 13-3 win vs. Enka.

Juvea Smith, Asheville High: Smith went 2-2 with a double and four RBIs.

Jackson Sellers, Hayesville: Sellers went 3-3 with a double and two RBIs. He also tossed a shutout while striking out six batters in a 3-0 win vs. Swain County.

Lane Chandler, Mountain Heritage: Chandler went 2-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. He also struck out 12 batters while throwing a no-hitter in a 15-0 win vs. Rosman.

Kameron Keenan, North Buncombe: Keenan went 3-4 with three RBIs in a 15-5 win vs. McDowell.

Will Johnson, Owen: Johnson went 3-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs in a 9-4 win vs. Mitchell.

Carson Allison, Pisgah: Allison went 2-3 with a double and three RBIs in a 9-2 win vs. Franklin.

Karson Scruggs, Polk County: Scruggs went 3-4 with three RBIs in a 14-7 win vs. Patton.

Ethan Orr, Robbinsville: Orr went 3-3 with a triple, a home run and four RBIs in a 9-6 win vs. Cherokee.

Caden Davidson, Roberson: Davidson went 2-4 with two doubles and three RBIs in an 18-0 win vs. Reynolds.

Jake Parham, Roberson: Parham went 3-5 with a home run, a double and three RBIs.

Heron Smith-Martin, Holt Gaston, and Micah Simpson, Roberson: They teamed for a no-hitter and collected five strikeouts.

Amos Rich, Tuscola: Rich went 2-2 with a double and an RBI. He also struck out eight and allowed only two hits and three walks in three innings in a 5-0 win vs. North Henderson.

Eli Shinn, West Henderson: Shinn went 3-3 with a home run and two RBIs in a 15-0 win vs. Smoky Mountain.

Jackson Lynn, West Henderson: Lynn went 2-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs.

Softball

Kendall Rumans, Franklin: Rumans went 3-5 with a double, a home run and two RBIs in a 13-4 win vs. Pisgah.

Laura Holland, Franklin: Holland went 3-5 with a double, a triple and three RBIs.

Gracie Thrasher, Murphy: Thrasher went 2-4 with a triple and four RBIs in a 9-2 win vs. Polk County (Tenn.).

Mia Roland, Owen: Roland went 4-5 with two doubles and six RBIs in a 17-1 win vs. Mitchell.

Jayla Doston, Reynolds: Dotson went 2-4 with a double, a home run and two RBIs in a 17-2 win vs. Asheville High.

Kadyn Williams, Reynolds: Williams went 2-3 with four RBIs.

Kennedy Anthony, Swain County: Anthony went 3-3 with a triple and three RBIs in a 12-0 win vs. Hayesville.

Rylee Rawls, Swain County: Rawls struck out 12 batters while throwing a shutout.

Kenzie Cook, Tuscola: Cook went 2-2 with four RBIs in a 15-0 win vs. North Henderson.

Haley Littrell, West Henderson: Litrell went 3-4 with a double and two RBIs in an 11-0 win vs. Smoky Mountain.

Jackson Hursey, Franklin: Hursey went 1-4 with a double and three RBIs in a 12-8 win vs. Murphy.

AJ Mackey, Mitchell: Mackey went 2-2 with a double, a home run and six RBIs in a 31-0 win vs. Cloudland (Tenn.).

Riley Silver, Mitchell: Silver went 5-5 with a double and six RBIs. He also struck out 10 batters while throwing a no-hitter.

Grey Reedy, North Buncombe: Reedy went 2-3 with a double and a home run and five RBIs in a 13-3 win vs. Madison.

Boone Carver, Pisgah: Carver went 3-3 with a home run and four RBIs in an 8-4 win vs. Erwin.

Softball

Hailey Griffin, Madison: Griffin went 2-4 with two home runs and six RBIs in a 19-1 win vs. Erwin.

Girls Soccer

Peyton Case, Asheville High: Case netted two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win vs. Watauga.

Desi Rozeboom, Madison: Rozeboom scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win vs. NCSSM: Morganton.

Aria Giles, Roberson: Giles recorded a hat trick in a 9-0 win vs. McDowell.

Kate Pratt, Roberson: Pratt tallied two goals and three assists.

Gabby Roman Bruno, Smoky Mountain: Roman Bruno made eight saves in a 2-0 win vs. Pisgah.
