Whippany Park Wildcats to host inclusive baseball clinic for kids with disabilities May 19

Whippany Park High's Wildcat varsity baseball team is set to host "Wildcat Wish,” an inclusive baseball clinic for children with disabilities, on May 19 at the high school baseball field in Hanover Township.

The free clinic promises not just a day filled with sports but an opportunity for children with disabilities to try their hand at the sport alongside varsity players in a supportive environment.

A range of activities are planned, including batting, fielding and running bases, all of which have been modified to accommodate a variety of abilities.

The clinic will offer more than just play, added Whippany Park coach said coach Ricky Gathen. It's about creating an environment where children can feel included, valued and capable, he said in an announcement.

"We're committed to providing a memorable experience that these kids and their families will cherish forever," said Gathen.

Complimentary hotdogs, snacks and refreshments will be provided by the East Hanover Elks Lodge.
