Where UNC football ranks in latest ESPN FPI rankings

After two weeks of college football, ESPN has opted to update their Football Power Index rankings, predicting where teams stand at the moment and their win totals for the season.

For North Carolina, they cracked the top 30 going into the season but after two weeks of play they now find themselves outside of the top 30. UNC checks in at No. 34 in the FPI with an 8.0. To put it in perspective, Alabama leads the way with 31.5 while Georgia is second at 29.4, then Ohio State 28, Clemson 22.8, and Michigan 19.1 to round out the top 5.

Right now at 2-0, the FPI has UNC with 8 wins and 4 losses and a zero percent chance to win out. They do have the Tar Heels at 96.2% chance to win six games and be bowl eligible while their chances to win the ACC Coastal is at 15 percent.

UNC is listed as the fourth-best ACC team behind Clemson, Miami and Pitt, as N.C. State fell out of the top 25 to No. 37 after barely beating East Carolina.
