Where CBS Sports ranked Harrison Ingram in transfer rankings
The UNC basketball program picked up a big commitment on Saturday when former five-star recruit Harrison Ingram announced he was committed to the Tar Heels.
After two years at Stanford, Ingram opted to enter the portal in hopes of finding success. The Tar Heels get a player that will come in and start on the wing, hopefully becoming a good fit for the system Hubert Davis wants to run.
With the addition of Ingram, it feels like the Tar Heels got better this offseason and still have room to add more, in addition to the three other players they picked up in the portal. Ingram was rated by many as a top 10 player in the portal including from CBS Sports who had him No. 10 overall this year:
It’s possible that a change of scenery is all Ingram needs to recapture the NBA Draft buzz he once enjoyed as a five-star prospect from the Class of 2021. At 6-8, he’s a versatile forward who can play on the block or step out and hit 3-pointers. He’s also a savvy passer who can facilitate the offense. Ingram averaged 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in two seasons with the Cardinal. If he can bring up his career 62.9% free-throw shooting and 31.6% 3-point shooting percentage, Ingram can be a high-impact starter for the Tar Heels.
Time will tell if the Ingram addition will benefit both sides, but it’s hard not to get excited early on in the offseason. Especially with how last year went in Chapel Hill.
