West Ottawa's Arianne Olson, Lucas Lesher, two relays claim OK Red titles

HUDSONVILLE - The West Ottawa girls track and field team finished third at the OK Red Conference championships on Friday at Hudsonville.

The Panthers finished with 92 points finishing behind Rockford (169.5) and East Kentwood (159.5). Grand Haven was fourth (80), followed by Jenison (55.5), Caledonia (47.5), Grandville (39) and Hudsonville (18).

Arianne Olson won the 3,200 meters (11:04.67) and was second in the 1,600 (5:07.65).

Olson also teamed with Ava Porras, Megan Postma and Addie Birkholz to win the 4x800-meter relay (9:22.32). Postma took second in the 400 (58.58). Allinna Teav was third in the long jump (16-4 1/4).

Birkholz, Postma, Emma Gunnett and Elizabeth Hopkins took second in the 4x400 (4:08.86).

In the boys meet, West Ottawa was fifth with 65 points behind East Kentwood (169), Rockford (153), Grand Haven (89) and Caledonia (80). Grandville was sixth (37), followed by Jenison (36) and Hudsonville (30).

West Ottawa's Ben Monger, Quinten Tirado, Allen Payne Jr. and Ruben Esparza won the 4x200 relay (3:23.56).

Lucas Lesher won the shot put (47 feet, 9 inches) and was third in the discus (142-6). He was fourth in the pole vault (13-9).

Esparza finished second in the 200 meters (21.72). Esparza teamed with Andrew Spilotro, Monger and Bryce Buckner to take second in the 4x100 (42.64). Buckner, Monger, Payne Jr. and Esparza took second in the 4x200 (1:28.34).
