West Oso's Aracely Salinas, London's Kailey Albrecht place second at state tennis tournament

West Oso's Aracely Salinas and London's Kailey Albrecht had the top finishes at the UIL state tennis tournament in San Antonio.

Salinas, who became the first West Oso tennis player to win a regional championship and advance to the state tournament, won her first two singles matches before falling to Taylor's Rylee Michna in the Class 4A finals on Friday at the Annmarie Tennis Center.

Albrecht also won two singles matches to advance to the finals before falling to Clyde's Gracie in the Class 3A tournament at the the Blossom Tennis Center.

In Class 5A, Veterans Memorial's Jenny Su won her quarterfinal match before falling to College Station's Maya Diyashev in the semifinals.

London's Alijah Miranda won his quarterfinal match against Gunter's Parker Hoel before falling to Vernon's Kell Castleberry in the semifinals.

In Class 4A boys' doubles, Tuloso-Midway's Abram Botello and Michael Moreau fell to Lindale's Hayden Harry and Kalvin Dryman in the quarterfinals.
