West Coast Elite lives up to its name
EL SEGUNDO -- There is no doubt Ryan Silver's West Coast Elite Basketball has absolutely taken over on several fronts of the grassroots youth basketball scene.
After a wildly successful spring and summer campaign with high-profile NCAA live-period events followed by travel teams taking Las Vegas by storm, Silver has no plans to slow down this Fall.
The rapidly growing company (backed by Under Armour) has several all-star camps and high-academic camps scheduled for September and a brand new event Oct. 6-8. The West Coast Elite High School Invitational has 36 teams scheduled to participate at the MAP in Anaheim. (See below)
"We have received so much positive feedback from a lot of our events that the next step was to reach out to the high school coaches across Southern California," Silver said.
"The response has been overwhelmingly positive. We are excited about this event as another avenue to help kids realize their dreams of playing college basketball. Our whole staff strives to help the kids in our programs each and every day."
A huge feather in Silver's cap is the success with high-academic kids and the Ivy League.

Not only does West Coast Elite have seven Div. I commits right now, the amount of players in the Ivy League shows the broad stroke Silver has across the country across all levels of basketball.
Christian Juzang (Harvard), Balsa Dragovic (Harvard), Tommy McCarthy (Harvard), Adrease Jackson (Dartmouth) and Reed Farley (Princeton) are currently in school.
Oak Park High senior guard Wes Slajchert is committed to Dartmouth and has been with West Coast Elite since seventh grade.
"There is a place to play for everybody," Silver said. "It's not just about top 25 Div. I schools. There is a place for everybody. The right level and the right fit."
