Week 17 Fantasy Freebies - Rashod Bateman

Matt Harmon explains why the Ravens' WR could have a surprise impact in fantasy championships.

MATT HARMON: Though I really thought Antonio Gibson was going to carry me to my consolation bracket title, but alas, COVID ruins yet another thing, a very important one at that. All right, my pick here is Rashod Bateman. Really like Bateman a lot, of course, going forward, but especially this week too.

Marquise Brown didn't practice like essentially all week with a non-COVID-related illness, so that could push Bateman more into the pecking order, more into the game plan. There's also several wide receiver absences, you know, lower down the depth chart for Baltimore. Again, just pushing things up for Bateman.

This is a guy who is consistent. I know his involvement has been kind of hit or miss, of course like, but he did catch a touchdown last week. He's steadily been number two on the team in terms of wide receivers in routes run over the last few weeks.

So obviously, going to be a volatile guy. You can't bank on the target share for him like you can bank on it with Mark Andrews, but I do think if you are looking for a wide receiver four or a flex play, something like that, I think Bateman in a potentially high scoring game with Tyler Huntley-- at least playing, thank God-- then we can chase Bateman there for some juice, some potential upside in that match-up.
