Week 10 Target Watch: AFC

Evan Silva breaks down the 2017 Atlanta Falcons from a fantasy perspective

Welcome to the Week 10 AFC Target Watch. Below I have all the targets for each player over the last seven weeks and then their average number of targets for the season in parentheses and then below that I have the red zone targets and touches for each player for the last five weeks.

Baltimore Ravens

Steve Smith: 10-7-6-5-9-8- 7 (8.4), Torrey Smith: 3-8-5-5-2-7- 8 (5.6), Owen Daniels: 6-7-3-9-dnp-9- 4 (5.4), Justin Forsett: 4-8-0-1-5-8- 1 (4.2), Mike Campanaro: dnp-dnp-2-1-3-dnp- dnp (2), Kyle Juszczyk: 2-2-3-1-1-2- 3 (1.9), Kamar Aiken: 1-1-3-1-6-1- 1 (1.8), Marlon Brown: 3-2-dnp-dnp-1-3- 2 (1.6), Jacoby Jones: 1-1-1-0-1-0- 0 (1.3), Phillip Supernaw: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-1- dnp (1), Lorenzo Taliaferro: 0-0-2-0-3-3- 0 (0.9), Crockett Gillmore: 0-0-2-1-2-2- 1 (0.8), Bernard Pierce: dnp-0-0-1-dnp-0- 0 (0.4)

Right now the Ravens most effective offensive players are Justin Forsett and Torrey Smith and they continued that distinction this week by scoring all three touchdowns and accumulating nearly two-thirds of the Ravens total yardage on Sunday.

Thankfully for Forsett’s fantasy owners this week we didn’t need to see who would get the ball at the one-yard line as Forsett ran both his touchdowns in from nine and 11 yards out. Forsett has had a great season so far with 164 touches for 923 yards and five touchdowns. He also leads the league in yards per rushing attempt at 5.4.

Torrey Smith has now steadily out produced Steve Smith Sr. over the last six weeks and even though he has fewer targets, he has five touchdowns over the last five games to Senior’s one.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Torrey Smith: Run 0/ Tar 6, Owen Daniels: Run 0/ Tar 5, Justin Forsett: Run 10/ Tar 2, Steve Smith: Run 0/ Tar 2, Kamar Aiken: Run 0/ Tar 2, Mike Campanaro: Run 0/ Tar 1, Crockett Gillmore: Run 0/ Tar 1, Kyle Juszczyk: Run 0/ Tar 1, Joe Flacco: Run 2/ Tar 0, Bernard Pierce: Run 7/ Tar 0, Lorenzo Taliaferro: Run 3/ Tar 0

Those touchdown receptions for Torrey Smith are coming due to his work in the red zone, as he has had six targets over the last five weeks, to Senior’s two.

Buffalo Bills

Sammy Watkins: 9-12-3-14-6-BYE- 10 (8.6), Robert Woods: 12-4-10-5-3-BYE- 8 (6.6), Fred Jackson: 7-9-6-3-dnp-BYE- 5 (5.9), Bryce Brown: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-3-BYE- 7 (5), Scott Chandler: 5-6-9-6-2-BYE- 6 (4.7), Mike Williams: 6-2-dnp-0-0-BYE- dnp (2.6), Chris Hogan: 0-2-6-6-1-BYE- 7 (2.4), C.J. Spiller: 3-4-1-1-dnp-BYE- dnp (2.3), Marquise Goodwin: dnp-1-3-dnp-dnp-BYE- 0 (1), Frank Summers: 1-2-0-1-0-BYE- 3 (0.9), Chris Gragg: 0-1-0-2-0-BYE- 1 (0.8), Anthony Dixon: 0-0-0-4-0-BYE- 0 (0.4), Lee Smith: 0-0-0-0-2-BYE- 1 (0.4)

Sammy Watkins remained the main target in this one even though he didn’t seem 100% due to his groin injury. He had 10 targets, but brought in just four for 27 yards. Of course those weren’t all on him as Kyle Orton was not the picture of accuracy on Sunday. But as usual, it’s good to see him getting the targets.

Orton has done a good job of spreading the ball around to his receivers, but it does make it tough to find anyone besides Watkins who is somewhat dependable. If Watkins ever misses a game though, be sure to get Robert Woods in your lineups. He’s proven that he is the second target, but also that he is pretty reliable.

With Fred Jackson coming back, but not taking on a full set of snaps, it made for a pretty confusing backfield. Bryce Brown led with 36% of the snaps, then Jackson at 35% and then Boobie Dixon at 29%. Brown had a bad fumble as he was about to cross into the end zone, but they continued to use him, especially in the passing game. But they don’t really want to use Brown much in pass blocking, so we could see Dixon sharing time with Jackson when he is closer to 100%. I think we can count on Jackson leading the way and probably being the safest play going forward.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Scott Chandler: Run 0/ Tar 6, Chris Hogan: Run 0/ Tar 4, Sammy Watkins: Run 0/ Tar 4, Robert Woods: Run 0/ Tar 3, Bryce Brown: Run 2/ Tar 2, Lee Smith: Run 0/ Tar 1, Frank Summers: Run 3/ Tar 1, Fred Jackson: Run 5/ Tar 1, Kyle Orton: Run 0/ Tar 0, Anthony Dixon: Run 7/ Tar 0

Orton had 11 attempts in the red zone and completed just four, with three going to running backs.

Cincinnati Bengals

Mohamed Sanu: BYE-9-15-9-9-8- 7 (8.2), A.J. Green: BYE-7-dnp-dnp-dnp-6- 10 (6.8), Jermaine Gresham: BYE-4-7-12-4-6- 6 (5.3), Giovani Bernard: BYE-3-5-5-2-dnp- dnp (4.9), Greg Little: BYE-dnp-dnp-2-5-0- 4 (2.8), Brandon Tate: BYE-0-5-2-2-1- 0 (2.2), Jeremy Hill: BYE-4-4-1-4-1- 2 (2), Rex Burkhead: BYE-dnp-0-0-dnp-3- 4 (1.8), Dane Sanzenbacher: BYE-1-5-2-0-dnp- dnp (1.7), James Wright: BYE-1-1-2-0-0- 2 (1), Ryan Hewitt: BYE-0-0-0-1-2- 0 (0.6), Cedric Peerman: BYE-0-0-1-0-4- 0 (0.6), Kevin Brock: BYE-0-0-0-0-0- 2 (0.4)

Many others have tried explaining the ineptitude of Andy Dalton on Thursday night, so I won’t pile on too much, but maybe a little. Dalton completed 30% of his passes for 86 yards and three interceptions. The wind was bad, but Brian Hoyer completed 15 of 23 passes for 198 yards and no picks. Dalton has always been inconsistent, but this was a true display of ineptitude.

A.J. Green saw 10 targets to Mohamed Sanu’s seven, while Jeremy Hill was the every down back with 13 touches to just two for Cedric Peerman. No roles changed, so at least we know that.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Mohamed Sanu: Run 0/ Tar 5, Jermaine Gresham: Run 0/ Tar 3, Greg Little: Run 0/ Tar 2, Brandon Tate: Run 0/ Tar 2, A.J. Green: Run 1/ Tar 1, Dane Sanzenbacher: Run 0/ Tar 1, Andy Dalton: Run 4/ Tar 0, Jeremy Hill: Run 10/ Tar 0, Giovani Bernard: Run 9/ Tar 0, Cedric Peerman: Run 1/ Tar 0

Cleveland Browns

Andrew Hawkins: BYE-9-2-9-9-8- dnp (8.6), Miles Austin: BYE-3-3-8-2-5- 6 (5.2), Jordan Cameron: BYE-7-5-6-5-dnp- dnp (5.2), Taylor Gabriel: BYE-6-4-7-3-6- 5 (4.8), Travis Benjamin: BYE-4-1-4-2-4- 5 (3.1), Gary Barnidge: BYE-0-0-1-1-4- 4 (1.8), Ben Tate: BYE-2-0-2-1-4- 2 (1.6), Jim Dray: BYE-4-1-0-2-1- 1 (1.4), Ray Agnew: BYE-2-1-1-dnp-dnp- dnp (1), Terrance West: BYE-0-dnp-1-2-1- 0 (1), Isaiah Crowell: BYE-0-0-2-1-0- 0 (0.4),

Brian Hoyer was able to move the chains with some efficient passing, the running game was working and Andy Dalton was unable to complete a pass to his own team, which all equaled a solid victory for the Browns.

With the wind factoring in and not needing to pass much, the Browns pounded the ball on the ground with all three of their backs. Terrance West led with 47% of the snaps and 26 touches, with Ben Tate at 32% and 12 touches and Isaiah Crowell at 32% and 12 touches. All three were able to get into the end zone. None had a great yards per carry, but West did well with his larger workload and didn’t hurt his chances of continuing as the lead back.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Taylor Gabriel: Run 0/ Tar 3, Andrew Hawkins: Run 0/ Tar 3, Terrance West: Run 10/ Tar 3, Jordan Cameron: Run 0/ Tar 1, Travis Benjamin: Run 0/ Tar 1, Miles Austin: Run 0/ Tar 1, Gary Barnidge: Run 0/ Tar 1, Ben Tate: Run 20/ Tar 0, Brian Hoyer: Run 2/ Tar 0, Isaiah Crowell: Run 3/ Tar 0

The red zone looks were spread out between the running backs for the most part with West seeing 5, Tate 3 and Crowell 2.

Denver Broncos

Demaryius Thomas: BYE-16-12-9-12-11- 14 (11.2), Emmanuel Sanders: BYE-9-6-3-9-16- 8 (9.3), Julius Thomas: BYE-7-6-6-6-2- 7 (5.7), Wes Welker: BYE-9-1-3-2-8- 5 (5.3), Ronnie Hillman: BYE-1-5-4-4-10- 5 (4.6), Montee Ball: BYE-3-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (2.8), C.J. Anderson: BYE-dnp-0-0-0-4- 7 (1.5), Jacob Tamme: BYE-1-1-0-1-5- 0 (1.3), Andre Caldwell: BYE-1-0-1-0-0- 1 (1), Juwan Thompson: BYE-0-1-0-1-1- 0 (0.3), Virgil Green: BYE-0-0-0-0-dnp- dnp (0.3), Cody Latimer: BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp-0-0- 1 (0.2)

After a slow start for the Broncos offense they greased the wheels and churned their way to a blowout of the hapless Raiders. Peyton Manning used the usual suspects in the passing game on Sunday, but added in backup running back C.J. Anderson who had seven targets, catching four for 73 yards and a touchdown with Ronnie Hillman hurting his foot.

Hillman will be out a couple weeks and Montee Ball will return next week. No Hillman helps narrow things down a bit, but it’s still going to be tough telling who will get the work. My guess is that Anderson will get a shot as the lead back after his big Week 10 with Ball coming back from injury.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Demaryius Thomas: Run 0/ Tar 3, Ronnie Hillman: Run 12/ Tar 3, Emmanuel Sanders: Run 0/ Tar 3, Julius Thomas: Run 0/ Tar 1, Jacob Tamme: Run 0/ Tar 1, Wes Welker: Run 0/ Tar 1, C.J. Anderson: Run 2/ Tar 1, Juwan Thompson: Run 6/ Tar 0

Five players saw exactly two red zone targets each, with Julius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders converting theirs into a touchdown each.

Houston Texans

Andre Johnson: 7-8-12-9-12-7- BYE (9.1), DeAndre Hopkins: 6-6-2-9-11-11- BYE (7.1), Arian Foster: 10-5-4-6-6-3- BYE (4.9), Damaris Johnson: 2-2-3-2-4-2- BYE (2.4), Garrett Graham: 5-1-1-3-1-1- BYE (2.4), Alfred Blue: 3-0-0-1-1-2- BYE (0.9), Keshawn Martin: 1-1-0-1-0-1- BYE (0.7), C.J. Fiedorowicz: 1-0-1-1-0-0- BYE (0.5), Jay Prosch: 2-0-0-0-0-0- BYE (0.3), Ryan Griffin: 0-1-0-0-0-0- BYE (0.3), Jonathan Grimes: 0-0-0-0-0-0- BYE (0.1)

Ryan Fitzpatrick completed less than 50% of his passes and most of those incompletions were his fault. That may be why we are seeing Ryan Mallet this week. But when the ball got close to DeAndre Hopkins we saw him put on a show, catching six of 11 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown. He had to work for those numbers on Sunday.

Andre Johnson on the other hand also had tough targets from Fitzpatrick, but was only able to catch two of seven for 12 yards. Like I said, Fitzpatrick is the main reason for the low numbers, but Hopkins is quickly becoming the preferred target for production.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Andre Johnson: Run 0/ Tar 6, DeAndre Hopkins: Run 0/ Tar 4, Arian Foster: Run 12/ Tar 4, Damaris Johnson: Run 0/ Tar 3, Alfred Blue: Run 2/ Tar 1, Ryan Fitzpatrick: Run 2/ Tar 0

Hopkins had two targets in the red zone and caught one for a touchdown.

Indianapolis Colts

T.Y. Hilton: 10-12-9-9-10-6- BYE (9.3), Reggie Wayne: 8-12-9-8-dnp-10- BYE (9), Coby Fleener: 3-2-4-5-4-11- BYE (5), Hakeem Nicks: 6-6-7-1-6-4- BYE (4.7), Ahmad Bradshaw: 2-5-6-3-7-5- BYE (4.7), Dwayne Allen: 3-5-7-6-2-5- BYE (4.4), Trent Richardson: 5-5-0-5-dnp-2- BYE (3.2), Donte Moncrief: 2-0-0-2-12-1- BYE (2.7), Jack Doyle: 1-0-2-1-0-0- BYE (1), Griff Whalen: 0-0-0-0-3-0- BYE (0.3), Daniel Herron: 0-0-0-0-1-1- BYE (0.2)

Andrew Luck wasn’t as sharp as his numbers would suggest, but for us fantasy players the numbers aren’t suggestions, they’re just numbers at the end of the day and Luck continues to put up huge stat lines week in and week out.

As usual Luck spread the ball around and four receivers caught touchdown passes. And for some reason Coby Fleener led the team in targets. He did well enough, but Dwayne Allen is a better per target fantasy player and needs more targets. Allen actually ran more routes, but was targeted five times to Fleener’s 11.

Ahmad Bradshaw saw 58% of the snaps to Trent Richardson’s 29%, which is the biggest difference of the season when the two have both played, but the blowout may have been the culprit as Dan Herron saw eight rushing attempts as well.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Coby Fleener: Run 0/ Tar 5, Reggie Wayne: Run 0/ Tar 5, Ahmad Bradshaw: Run 10/ Tar 5, Dwayne Allen: Run 0/ Tar 4, Hakeem Nicks: Run 0/ Tar 3, Trent Richardson: Run 6/ Tar 3, T.Y. Hilton: Run 0/ Tar 2, Donte Moncrief: Run 0/ Tar 1, Andrew Luck: Run 5/ Tar 0, Daniel Herron: Run 1/ Tar 0

Dwayne Allen is the only player to get into the end zone from the red zone.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Cecil Shorts: 4-dnp-16-9-8-7- 7 (8.7), Allen Robinson: 7-11-9-7-10-8- 10 (8.1), Marcedes Lewis: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (6), Allen Hurns: 6-11-4-2-4-9- 2 (5.6), Clay Harbor: 8-4-4-6-4-2- 4 (4.6), Marqise Lee: dnp-dnp-2-3-2-0- 3 (3.4), Mike Brown: 3-2-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (3), Jordan Todman: 2-2-3-1-2-1- 6 (2), Denard Robinson: 3-2-3-1-2-2- 3 (2), Toby Gerhart: 1-1-dnp-dnp-1-4- 0 (1.6), Marcel Jensen: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (1), Mickey Shuler: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (1), Ace Sanders: dnp-2-1-1-0-0- 1 (0.8), Will Taufoou: 1-1-2-1-0-0- 0 (0.6), Nic Jacobs: 1-0-0-0-1-0- 1 (0.4), Storm Johnson: dnp-0-1-0-dnp-dnp- dnp (0.3)

Allen Robinson led the team in targets with 10, catching half of those for 60 yards, while Cecil Shorts was second with seven targets, but caught five for 119 yards. This was Shorts’ best game of the season and it’s good to see him step up, especially with Robinson ending his season with a broken foot.

Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee didn’t see much work in this game, but will get more use going forward with Robinson out. Hurns is still the third receiver, but saw a dip in snaps last game. He most likely will step up into the starting role, but it’s not a lock.

Denard Robinson continued his strong play with two touchdowns and 70 yards on 17 touches. Toby Gerhart, who had a strong Week 9, did not use that game to propel him this week as he had four carries for two yards.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Cecil Shorts: Run 0/ Tar 7, Clay Harbor: Run 0/ Tar 3, Allen Hurns: Run 0/ Tar 2, Marqise Lee: Run 0/ Tar 1, Jordan Todman: Run 1/ Tar 1, Will Taufoou: Run 0/ Tar 1, Allen Robinson: Run 0/ Tar 1, Toby Gerhart: Run 2/ Tar 0, Blake Bortles: Run 1/ Tar 0, Denard Robinson: Run 8/ Tar 0, Storm Johnson: Run 5/ Tar 0

The Jags didn’t spend much time in the red zone, but Shorts and Lee each saw a target.

Kansas City Chiefs

Dwayne Bowe: 6-6-BYE-7-6-10- 12 (7.2), Donnie Avery: 2-dnp-BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (6), Travis Kelce: 9-3-BYE-4-6-5- 2 (4.9), Jamaal Charles: 3-4-BYE-4-4-4- 4 (3.5), Joe McKnight: dnp-dnp-BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (3.5), Anthony Fasano: 1-7-BYE-1-4-3- 1 (3.2), Junior Hemingway: 1-4-BYE-1-0-2- 3 (2.1), Knile Davis: 2-1-BYE-1-1-0- 1 (1.9), A.J. Jenkins: 1-2-BYE-2-0-3- 4 (1.7), DeAnthony Thomas: dnp-1-BYE-2-4-1- 0 (1.6), Anthony Sherman: 0-2-BYE-2-1-1- 2 (1), Frankie Hammond: 1-0-BYE-2-1-0- 0 (0.7), Demetrius Harris: 0-1-BYE-1-1-1- dnp (0.6), Albert Wilson: dnp-dnp-BYE-1-0-1- 0 (0.4)

The Buffalo Bills defensive line was stout for much of the game, but Jamaal Charles just kept at it and ended up breaking off a 39 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and finished the day with 118 total yards and a touchdown on 18 touches. Being able to produce against tough competition is what makes Charles elite.

The wide receivers once again failed to get into the end zone, but Dwayne Bowe did have his best game of the season, catching eight of 12 targets for 93 yards. But Bowe also has only two targets in the red zone over the last five weeks and Charles has four, including nine rushing attempts.

For you Travis Kelce backers, it may be time to back away. He had two targets. He caught both, but that’s just not going to get the job done in fantasy. Oh, and Junior Hemingway and A.J. Jenkins totaled seven targets for two receptions.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Jamaal Charles: Run 9/ Tar 4, Dwayne Bowe: Run 0/ Tar 2, Travis Kelce: Run 0/ Tar 2, Anthony Sherman: Run 0/ Tar 1, A.J. Jenkins: Run 0/ Tar 1, DeAnthony Thomas: Run 0/ Tar 1, Junior Hemingway: Run 0/ Tar 1, Knile Davis: Run 6/ Tar 1, Anthony Fasano: Run 0/ Tar 1, Alex Smith: Run 1/ Tar 0

Miami Dolphins

Mike Wallace: 4-BYE-9-8-7-8- 8 (8.3), Charles Clay: 4-BYE-5-5-3-8- 9 (5.8), Jarvis Landry: 4-BYE-8-5-3-6- 10 (5.6), Brian Hartline: 7-BYE-2-3-4-7- 1 (4.8), Lamar Miller: 2-BYE-3-3-3-2- 2 (3.3), Brandon Gibson: 4-BYE-dnp-dnp-3-2- 2 (2.9), Dion Sims: 2-BYE-2-2-2-dnp- dnp (2), Daniel Thomas: 2-BYE-dnp-3-2-2- 0 (1.8), Rishard Matthews: 2-BYE-0-0-2-1- 1 (1.3), Orleans Darkwa: 0-BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (1), Damien Williams: 0-BYE-0-2-0-2- 3 (0.8), Gator Hoskins: 0-BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp-1- 1 (0.5), Knowshon Moreno: dnp-BYE-1-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (0.3)

The Dolphins had negative yards in the first quarter and their only touchdown came after a long interception return to the red zone. That being said, we did have a new target leader this week with Jarvis Landry who had 10, catching seven for 53 yards. It’s not a great line, but in PPR leagues he would have been helpful. Over his last five games he’s averaging five receptions and has found the end zone twice.

Mike Wallace was the benefactor of that interception return as he was able to convert on a short touchdown pass after having been held scoreless the two previous games. He now has six touchdowns on the season, which is keeping him relevant since he hasn’t topped five receptions since Week 1 or 100 yards receiving.

With Lamar Miller hurting, Damien Williams saw 44% of the snaps to Daniel Thomas’ 36% and Miller’s 18%. And the good news for Williams is that he actually played well on those extra snaps, totaling 61 yards on 10 touches.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Charles Clay: Run 0/ Tar 11, Mike Wallace: Run 0/ Tar 7, Jarvis Landry: Run 0/ Tar 5, Rishard Matthews: Run 0/ Tar 2, Lamar Miller: Run 15/ Tar 2, Brian Hartline: Run 0/ Tar 2, Damien Williams: Run 7/ Tar 1, Daniel Thomas: Run 6/ Tar 1, Brandon Gibson: Run 0/ Tar 1, Knowshon Moreno: Run 5/ Tar 1, Gator Hoskins: Run 0/ Tar 1

Charles Clay continues to see a ton of red zone targets, but just couldn’t connect over the last two games. Hopefully for his fantasy owner’s sake they won’t start going away from him.

New England Patriots

Julian Edelman: 8-8-12-9-4-10- BYE (8.8), Rob Gronkowski: 3-11-9-10-9-10- BYE (8.3), Brandon LaFell: 10-4-6-5-11-13- BYE (7), Shane Vereen: 5-3-3-8-5-10- BYE (5.6), Timothy Wright: 0-5-1-0-7-0- BYE (2), Danny Amendola: 0-1-0-3-2-3- BYE (1.8), James White: 3-dnp-dnp-dnp-0-dnp- BYE (1.5), Aaron Dobson: dnp-1-1-dnp-dnp-dnp- BYE (1.3), Stevan Ridley: 1-0-1-dnp-dnp-dnp- BYE (0.8), James Develin: 0-1-1-0-0-2- BYE (0.7), Brian Tyms: dnp-dnp-2-0-0-0- BYE (0.5), Brandon Bolden: 0-0-0-1-0-0- BYE (0.4), Jonas Gray: dnp-dnp-dnp-0-0-1- BYE (0.3), Michael Hoomanawanui: 0-0-1-0-0-0- BYE (0.2)

Through the first four games of the year Tom Brady averaged 197 yards and one touchdown per game. Over his last five games he’s averaged 320 yards passing and 3.6 touchdowns per game. Rob Gronkowski rounding into form helps those numbers, but of course it can’t all be attributed to Gronk. Brady is just good at football.

Gronkowski tied for second in targets behind Brandon LaFell, but was much more efficient, catching nine of 10 targets for 105 yards and a touchdown. That’s 18 receptions for 254 yards and four touchdowns over the last two games.

Shane Vereen also had ten targets, catching just half for 38 yards and a touchdown. Over the last three games he’s had 13 receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns to go along with some pedestrian rushing numbers. They have a tough schedule coming up, which should keep Vereen working in the receiving game, which is good for the fantasy business.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Shane Vereen: Run 4/ Tar 7, Brandon LaFell: Run 0/ Tar 7, Julian Edelman: Run 0/ Tar 6, Rob Gronkowski: Run 0/ Tar 4, Timothy Wright: Run 0/ Tar 3, Danny Amendola: Run 0/ Tar 2, Stevan Ridley: Run 6/ Tar 0, Jonas Gray: Run 8/ Tar 0, Jimmy Garoppolo: Run 0/ Tar 0, Tom Brady: Run 5/ Tar 0, James Develin: Run 2/ Tar 0, James White: Run 1/ Tar 0, Brandon Bolden: Run 2/ Tar 0

Brady was on target in the red zone as he completed six of eight passes for 28 yards and four touchdowns to four different players.

New York Jets

Eric Decker: 10-dnp-10-7-11-12- 4 (7.6), Percy Harvin: dnp-5-4-dnp-9-13- 5 (6.6), Jeremy Kerley: 3-6-7-5-5-4- 1 (5.5), Jace Amaro: 5-3-12-5-5-0- 5 (4.4), Jeff Cumberland: 1-6-2-4-3-2- 0 (3.1), Greg Salas: 4-7-3-dnp-dnp-2- 0 (2.9), David Nelson: 1-4-dnp-2-dnp-dnp- dnp (2.7), Chris Johnson: 2-1-2-3-2-3- 1 (2.4), Chris Ivory: 6-1-2-4-2-0- 0 (2), T.J. Graham: dnp-1-1-1-1-0- 1 (0.8), Bilal Powell: 0-0-0-2-0-0- 1 (0.8), Chris Owusu: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-1-dnp- dnp (0.8), Tommy Bohanon: 0-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp- dnp (0.5), Zach Sudfeld: 1-0-0-0-0-0- 0 (0.3), John Conner: dnp-0-1-0-0-0- 0 (0.2)

The Jets took advantage of a big letdown by the Steelers and were able to find a win for the first time since Week 1. They did most of their damage early by scoring off of the Steelers many blunders and then held on with defense and the running game.

The running game was extremely spread out in this one with four players getting six or more rushing attempts, including six for receiver Percy Harvin. Chris Ivory led the way with 14 carries for 51 yards while Chris Johnson ran the ball seven times for 23 yards and caught one pass for 12 yards. You can then add in Michael Vick’s eight rushing attempts for 39 yards and you had a whole bunch of players running the ball, which means the true running backs see even less work than they already were.

Percy Harvin’s usage is a great sign for his fantasy prospects going forward. Even on a day where Vick only threw 18 passes, Harvin still had five targets and six rushing attempts. It didn’t turn into a big fantasy day, but you’re not going to find that kind of usage very often.

Derek Carr had one of his worst games of the season, but it did come against a tough Denver defense and Von Miller living in the backfield. He was able to put some garbage time stats together and get his new security blanket Mychal Rivera a touchdown and six receptions on eight targets for 64 yards. Right now he feels like the only safe-ish play for the Raiders.

James Jones saw the most targets with 12 and caught a heaping load of them with eight receptions on the day. That sounds great until you se that he accumulated 20 positive yards on those eight receptions. The Denver defense had their tackling skills honed for this one.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Antonio Brown: 11-12-10-13-13-16- 9 (11.2), Le'Veon Bell: 7-6-6-8-7-6- 10 (6.6), Martavis Bryant: dnp-dnp-dnp-5-7-5- 7 (6), Markus Wheaton: 6-2-11-2-5-4- 7 (5.7), Heath Miller: 11-4-4-1-8-2- 3 (4.9), Justin Brown: 2-3-4-dnp-dnp-dnp- 0 (3), Lance Moore: 1-1-6-2-3-1- 2 (2), Will Johnson: 1-1-0-1-2-1- 1 (0.9), Dri Archer: 1-2-1-0-1-1- 0 (0.9), LeGarrette Blount: 0-3-0-1-2-0- 0 (0.8), Darrius Heyward-Bey: 0-1-0-1-1-0- 1 (0.4), Matt Spaeth: 0-0-0-0-0-1- 0 (0.1), Michael Palmer: 0-1-0-0-0-0- 0 (0.1)

Ben Roethlisberger had back-to-back six touchdown games coming into this one ,where he went up against one of, if not the worst, passing defense in the league. So of course he has a poor statistical game that needed his 80-yard bomb to Martavis Bryant in garbage time to bring it up to just okay.

Antonio Brown’s numbers look okay as well as he caught eight of nine targets for 74 yards, but a muffed punt and another fumble were big reasons for the Steelers’ loss. But to think he still had eight receptions in his worst game of the year is pretty crazy.

Martavis Bryant had the best fantasy game out of the lot with that 80-yard touchdown and has now caught 14 of 25 targets for 310 yards and six touchdowns in four games. That’s 43% of his receptions going for six points. He continues to split time with Markus Wheaton who had seven targets to Bryant’s eight. Bryant is just getting the job done, so it’s hard not to like him for fantasy, but it sure feels like we are living on borrowed fantasy time.

Le'Veon Bell had a down game with just 69 total yards, but managed to help out a bit in PPR leagues with eight receptions and now owns the record for most running back receptions in a year for a Steeler with 55 and he has six games to go.

With 178 total yards there isn’t going to be much for the Chargers to hang their fantasy hat on after this humiliating defeat.

Philip Rivers had thrown at least one touchdown in every game this season and in his last five he had four games with three touchdown passes. This week he had three interceptions and no touchdown passes as Miami pressured him often and he made poor decision after poor decision. This looks like one of those game tapes they bury or fire off into space or feed to some unsuspecting critter at the San Diego Zoo.

Rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger had two nice drives to start the game, but a Shonn Greene fumble at the goal line stalled one out and the other he capped off with a touchdown to Dexter McCluster, but it was all downhill after that, as the Ravens didn’t allow them to score again.

Mettenberger has been horrible on deeper passes so far this season completing just 13 of 30 passes over 10 yards with three interceptions according to Pro Football Focus. So this week he dinked and dunked and of course that isn't a great way to win games unless you are Alex Smith.

Bishop Sankey had a positive game, which was made more positive by Shonn Greene fumbling at the goal line. He should continue to see work as they see what they have in him for the long haul.
