Watertown's Rylance and Olson, Roncalli's Gerlach finish in top 10 in the two tournaments

SIOUX FALLS — Kaden Rylance and Jake Olson each recorded top-10 finishes to lead Watertown High School's boys golf team to a fourth-place finish in the Warrior-Lynx Invite.

The two-day, 36-hole tourney concluded Tuesday at Bakker Crossing Championship Golf Course in Sioux Falls.

Harrisburg won the 16-team meet with a score of 575 (296-279), six shots better than Pierre 581 (299-282). Sioux Falls O'Gorman was third at 596 (307-289), followed by Watertown at 597 (315-282). Brandon Valley 615 (317-298) and Mitchell 615 (321-294) each tied for fifth.

"We had a slow start on Day 1 and didn't play great," said Watertown head coach Corey Neale. "We struggled on the greens and got in some tough spots off the tee. They didn't let that affect them on Day 2. They stayed confident in themselves and each other and had a great bounce back day as a team."

The Arrows improved their score by 33 shots on the final day.

Rounding out the field were Sioux Falls Lincoln (623), Yankton (642), Spearfish (657), Sioux Falls Jefferson (665), Brookings (666), Rapid City Central (674), Aberdeen Central (678), Rapid City Stevens (679), Sioux Falls Washington (714) and Sioux Falls Jefferson (717). Aberdeen Central also improved 38 shots on Day, shooting 320 compared to 358 on Monday.

Hayden Scott of Harrisburg shot a 5-under 137 (72-65) to win medalist honors by three shots. Rylance tied for fifth with a 143 (75-68) and Olson took ninth with a 146 (77-69).

Madison Invitational

MADISON —Aberdeen Roncalli shot 338 and finished fourth out of 15 teams in the Madison Boys Golf Invitational on Tuesday.

Tea Area fired a 313 to win the tourney by nine shots over Dakota Valley. Chamberlain shot 332 and Roncalli, Madison and West Central 338. Sioux Valley finished seventh with a 356 and Milbank 12th with a 366. Sisseton did not field a complete team.

Dakota Munger of Chamberlain won medalist honors with a 34-38—72.
