The Utah Jazz will host their annual open scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 21, the team announced on Tuesday.

The free event is open to the public and will allow fans to watch the players compete in a “tournament-style” scrimmage on the team’s black court.

“We are excited to welcome Jazz fans to Delta Center for our annual Open Scrimmage, which has grown into a true community celebration and one of our fans’ favorite ways to engage with our players and coaching staff,” Jim Olson, president of the Utah Jazz, said in the team’s press release.

The scrimmage comes four days before the Jazz start their 50th season on Oct. 25 against the Sacramento Kings in the Delta Center.

“This year’s event will be an exciting kickoff to our monumental 50th season, and we look forward to filling the arena with the best fans in the nation as they root for their favorite Jazz players and get ready for the 2023-24 season,” Olson said.

Head coach Will Hardy and Jazz players will also participate in on-court interviews that will be broadcast throughout the arena during the hourlong event.

  • Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

  • Seating is general admission style.

  • The scrimmage will be livestreamed on Jazz+, the team’s new streaming service.

How much does Jazz+ cost?

Jazz+ offers two payment plans that give fans “access to live games, on-demand games, exclusive content, preseason games and Spanish-language broadcasts of the games,” the Deseret News previously reported.

The subscription plans cost:

  • Annual: $125.50.

  • Monthly: $15.50.

The streaming service also offers a pay-per-view option in which fans can purchase access to a single game for $5.

The team is currently running a promotion. Fans who purchase the annual subscription by Oct. 24, the eve of the first regular season game, will receive a free Jazz shirt and hat and two upper-bowl tickets to a home game.
