WATCH: What’s it like trading with Celtics’ Danny Ainge?

The legend of Trader Danny is based in the real-life skill of Boston Celtics team president Danny Ainge’s seeming ability to extract the maximum value available out of the majority of the deals he strikes around the league, but some aspects of what we’ve heard might be the case with the Boston icon may not be entirely accurate. For one, teams being “afraid” to deal with the former Celtic guard may be considerably overblown — and often even backwards.

CelticsBlog’s Keith Smith recently penned a piece investigating the Celtic chief’s transactional reputation, and came on the CLNS podcast “Celtics Beat” to talk about it with hosts Evan Valenti and Adam Kaufman.

They also discuss just how often trade calls are made (probably more than you realize), Boston’s style of approaching them under Ainge and a lot more.

Watch the video to learn a little bit more about the legend of Trader Danny for yourself.
