Watch: Star PSG striker pointed where opponent would put penalty kick, and he was totally right

Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t technically clinched the Ligue 1 title yet, but considering the French giants’ runaway lead, it’s considered a foregone conclusion.

Kind of like Kylian Mbappe’s penalty prognostication on Friday.

Saint-Etienne’s Remy Cabella stepped to the spot to take a penalty kick in the 31st minute, and Mbappe was glimpsed on the broadcast pointing in the direction he’d place his kick.

And guess what? He was exactly right:

PSG’s Alphonse Aréola comfortably made the save, although in truth, the rising French goalkeeper might’ve made it anyway. It was a tame penalty by Cabella, poorly placed with no discernible power to speak of and altogether disappointing from a striker who’d already scored in the match.

Mbappe and Cabella are both French, and while Mbappe is nine years younger, perhaps he’s familiar with Cabella’s penalty habits from national team training or from having been around him before.

Thanks to the miss, PSG ended up drawing Saint-Etienne — which happens to be a treasure trove of oh-that’s-where-he-is-now players like Cabella, Neven Subotic, Mathieu Debuchy and Yann M’Vila — after a stoppage-time own goal that was guided on its way by Mbappe himself:

Crazy.
