Watch LeBron James become first player to score 39,000 points

It feels like every time LeBron James steps on the court now, he makes another bit of NBA history. Recently it was passing Jason Kidd for fifth all-time in triple-doubles.

Tuesday night it was LeBron becoming the first player ever to 39,000 points.

LeBron passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar last season to become the NBA's all-time leading scorer, this is an extension of that but still another impressive feat.

For the Lakers, the good news is it came in a blowout win over the Jazz where Darvin Ham was able to keep LeBron to 24 minutes and not playing the fourth quarter (which helps in a back-to-back, the Lakers host Luka Doncic and the Mavericks Wednesday). LeBron finished with 17 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in a game where the Lakers clinched their path to the knockout stage, the quarterfinal round of the In Season Tournament.
