WATCH: ECU rallies from 19 down to top Memphis with buzzer-beater
ECU brought some excitement to Greenville's Minges Coliseum with a thrilling, buzzer-beating win over American Athletic Conference rival Memphis on Saturday.
The Pirates' Brandon Suggs banked in a jumper as time expired to give ECU a 72-71 victory over the Penny Hardaway-coached Tigers and fans immediately stormed the court to celebrate.
ECU (11-5, 2-2) trailed by 10 points with just over two minutes remaining, and Memphis had led by as many as 19 earlier in the game.
Minges Magic showed up again for the Pirates, who are off to a 10-0 start at home for the first time since the 1955-56 season.

Down 70-60 with 2:18 remaining, Suggs hit a pair of free throws to spark a 10-0 run with Tristen Newton scoring five in that stretch and Vance Jackson pulling the Pirates even with a 3-pointer.
Lester Quinones made a free throw to put the Tigers (9-7, 3-3) up 71-70 with 14 seconds left, but he missed his second attempt and Vance got the rebound.
After a blocked shot, the Pirates inbounded the ball with a second on the clock, and Suggs sank the winner.

Suggs and Jackson finished with 17 points apiece, and Jackson also had seven rebounds.
The win came about an hour after another Pirate made a big play.
ECU alum Zay Jones made a 14-yard touchdown reception for the Las Vegas Raiders just before halftime in their NFL playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals to get his team within a touchdown at 20-13.
The Bengals would go on to win 26-19 with a red-zone stand as time expired, and Jones finished with five catches for 61 yards.
