WATCH: Is this the right core for the Boston Celtics’ title designs?

With the Boston Celtics hovering around .500 for the second season in a row despite some fairly substantial moves and a new coaching staff hired in the offseason, questions have begun to resurface about whether the team’s core players are the right fit to play alongside one another.

All-Star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have not played together much this season due to the latter’s lingering hamstring issues, but it is clear that Tatum, veteran guards Marcus Smart and Dennis Schroder, and bigs Robert Williams III and Al Horford have not had the desired effect in recent games when sharing the court together.

Can something come of shaking up the rotations or making some moves around the margin? Or are there deeper structural concerns the team needs to address?

The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “Celtics Beat” Evan Valenti and Adam Kaufman were joined by former Sports Illustrated writer Ian Thomsen to talk about the team’s woes and what might be done to fix them. Watch the clip embedded above to get their views on what needs to come next.
