After almost 12 full NBA seasons together on the Warriors, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson haven't stopped splashing.
The Splash Brothers are Nos. 1 and 2 in the league for the 2022-23 NBA season in 3-pointers made per contest -- Curry is averaging 4.9, and Thompson is right behind him at 4.3. To still be at the top of their game after all these years isn't lost on either guard, and both took time Friday to reflect upon the accomplishment.
"It's very inspiring," Thompson said after the Warriors' 130-115 win over the San Antonio Spurs at Chase Center. "And I know we have so much basketball ahead of us to keep that trend going, but it's really cool and just a testament to all our hard work and longevity and willingness to be great, because that's what it takes."
And in true Splash Bro fashion, Thompson made sure to shift the focus onto his teammate.
"If you want to stay around this league a long time, it's a huge commitment to be at your best every day," Thompson continued. "And I think Steph exemplifies that better than anybody."
Curry, at age 35, has shown no signs of slowing down, and his 257 threes this season are the NBA's third most despite missing plenty of time to injury. But Curry, like Thompson, was quick to shine a light on the accomplishments of his backcourt companion, who returned last season from back-to-back leg injuries after a 941-day absence.
"I mean, it's more a testament to [Thompson] and what he's been through, and coming back," Curry said postgame. "He's the one that set a new career record this year for threes made, and it's not surprising.
"But it's amazing to know that he's still pushing the envelope on what he can accomplish out there."
Thompson's 285 3-pointers made this season are beyond his previous career high of 276, set during the 2015-16 NBA season, and there still are four regular-season games left in the campaign.

For Thompson to be outperforming his 26-year-old self seven years down the line truly is impressive given what he has been through, and Curry believes both Warriors guards have plenty left in the tank.
"We know we're going to shoot a lot of threes," Curry said. "It's about bridging -- or connecting -- the other volume and efficiency that we pride ourselves on.
"Don't plan on stopping any time soon."
