Vote for the Storm Works Roofing H.S. Girls Athlete of the Week for Oct. 21-27

Bishop Stang’s Izzy Feeney was voted the Storm Works & Roofing High School Girls Athlete of the Week for Oct. 14-20. She received more than 2,000 votes (54%) to earn the honor.

Feeney had two goals for Bishop Stang in a 7-0 win over Middleboro.

Previous winners were New Bedford’s Caitlin Almeida, Fairhaven’s Madison Lewis, GNB Voc-Tech’s Kendra Santiago, Old Colony’s McKenna Benoit and Apponequet’s Hailey Desmarais and Jaida Beaulieu.

Helena Morrison, Bishop Stang

Morrison came in eighth out of 62 at the Catholic Central League meet with a time of 22:28.

Lena Morris, New Bedford

Morris came in fifth (20:52) at the Southeast Conference championship to help New Bedford place second as a team.

GIRLS SOCCER

Morgan Hayward, Apponequet

In three games, Hayward had a combined six goals and one assist for the Lakers. She had a hat trick against West Bridgewater.

Izzie Bromage, Bishop Stang

Bromage scored Bishop Stang’s lone goal in a loss to Bishop Feehan.

Avi Andrade, Dartmouth

Andrade had one goal and one assist for Dartmouth in a win over GNB Voc-Tech.

Kendra Santiago, GNB Voc-Tech

Santiago had four goals for the Bears in a win over West Bridgewater.

Ollie Costa, New Bedford

Costa has New Bedford’s lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Barnstable.

Audrey Thomas, Old Rochester

Thomas had a combined two goals and two assists in a pair of games for ORR.

Allison Arruda, Apponequet

In three games, Arruda had a combined 47 saves.

Taylee Vasques, Apponequet

Vasques had two goals for Apponequet in a 3-0 win over Seekonk.

Ella Plouffe, Bishop Stang

Plouffe had both of Stang’s goals in a 2-1 win over New Bedford.

Sydney Almeida, Dartmouth

In two games, Almeida had a combined two goals and one assist.

Sarah Cabral, Dartmouth

Cabral had a pair of goals for Dartmouth in a win over Apponequet.

Grace Haskell, Dartmouth

Haskell had two goals and one assist in a win over Brockton.

Tessa Winslow, Old Rochester

Winslow scored the winning goal off a penalty corner to lift the Bulldogs past Fairhaven 2-1.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Kohana Fontinha, Apponequet

Fontinha had 11 kills, five digs, four assists and two aces in the Lakers’ 3-0 win over Durfee.

Ali James, Bishop Stang

In three games, James had a combined 23 kills for the Spartans.

Alaina Strozik, Dartmouth

In three matches, Strozik had a combined 129 assists, including a school-record 51 against Duxbury and Case. She also had a combined 41 digs.

Adeline Ablett, Dartmouth

Ablett had a personal-best 20 kills against Case. She also had a combined 28 kills in two other matches.

Kiana Coppa, Fairhaven

In a loss to Old Rochester, Coppa has seven kills and 11 digs.

Layna Ross, GNB Voc-Tech

In a win over West Bridgewater, Ross had 22 kills.

Annabelle Huston, New Bedford

Huston had 12 kills and seven service points in a loss to GNB Voc-Tech.

Kelly Quin, Old Colony

In two games, Quin had a combined eight kills, eight aces and four digs for the Cougars.

Aubrie Letourneau, Old Rochester

Letourneau had a combined 48 assists, and four aces in a pair of games for ORR.

Olivia LaCava, Wareham

LaCava had 16 assists, seven digs, two aces and three kills in a win over Mashpee.
