Player of the Week results: See who was selected the Athens-area's Week 3 winner

It was a blowout victory for East Jackson's Gary Maddox, who scored nearly 80% of the 4,000 votes for Athens-area's Week 3 player of the week.

Maddox rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns while racking up eight tackles, three for loss, on defense.

He finished ahead of Mack Brice and Jaiden Daniels, which combined for 17% of the player of the week voting.

Vote for the Athens-area's high school football player each week during the regular season. Voting will begin Monday morning and run through 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Josh Adams, Bethlehem Christian

In Bethlehem Christian’s 16-12 victory over Heathwood Hall (SC), Adams rushed for two touchdowns.

Mack Brice, North Oconee

In North Oconee's 7-6 win over South Forsyth, Brice blocked the War Eagles' game-winning field goal attempt.

Navy Curry, Athens Christian

In Athens Christian’s 64-37 loss to Tattnall Square, Curry rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass.

Jaiden Daniels, Commerce

In Commerce’s 48-34 loss to Hebron Christian, Daniels had touchdown runs of 50, 63 and 60 yards.

Gary Maddox, East Jackson

In East Jackson’s 26-0 victory over West Hall, Maddox rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns and added eight tackles, three for loss, on defense.

Aaron Philo, Prince Avenue Christian

In Prince Avenue's 48-14 win over Athens Academy, finished 22 of 35 for 443 yards passing with six touchdowns and he added another rushing score.

Bailey Stockton, Prince Avenue Christian

In Prince Avenue's 48-14 win over Athens Academy, Stockton had 207 yards receiving and a touchdown while playing cornerback on defense.
