See who readers chose as the Morning News Preseason Girls Basketball Player of the Year

The high school basketball season is off and running and there are several Savannah area girls teams looking to make their mark this season.

Calvary Day and Woodville-Tompkins are both coming off state semifinal berths last season, and are looking to have successful runs again, despite losing key players to graduation.

Savannah Morning News readers weighed in and selected the Preseason Girls Player of the Year in an open poll.

Kaiya Bryant of Jenkins was the winner, taking home 22.95 % of the vote. Lyric McIver of Liberty County (21.35 %) was second and Aniyah Browner of Jenkins was third with 9.44 %.
