Results: Honda Cars of Aiken Augusta-area High School Athlete of the Week reader poll

It's time to vote for this week's Honda Cars of Aiken Augusta-area High School Athlete of the Week.

Aquinas' Emma Kate Noegel took the top spot with 54.18 percent of the vote, followed by Harlem's BJ Reese (39.06).

The athletes featured in this poll represent the best on-field performers from the past week of high school sports competitions around the Augusta area.

Maggie Pangle, Greenbrier flag football

Pangle overcame a sprained ankle and recorded the go-ahead touchdown (a 22-yard reception) in Greenbrier’s 14-6 win over Lithia Springs in the state championship game Tuesday. She also recorded a tackle and two pass deflections, both in the final quarter.

Daquan Young, Thomson boys’ basketball

Young scored a team-high 24 points in Thomson’s 71-68 win over two-time defending state champ Westside Friday night.

India Williams, Westminster Schools of Augusta girls’ basketball

Williams averaged 24 points in wins over Curtis Baptist (75-29) and Mead Hall Episcopal (64-5) last week.

Maci Butler, Curtis Baptist girls’ basketball

Butler recorded 15 points and 13 rebounds in a 47-44 overtime loss to Augusta Christian on Monday, Dec. 11.

Jada Kendrick, Thomson girls’ basketball

Kendrick recorded 31 points and 11 rebounds in an 85-5 win over Westside on Friday, Dec. 15. She also tallied 20 points and nine rebounds in a 62-33 win over Washington County earlier in the week.

Tahjae Hawes, Cross Creek girls’ basketball

Hawes recorded 16 points and six rebounds in a 48-46 win over North Augusta on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Brayla Harris, Butler girls’ basketball

Harris racked up 22 points, seven rebounds five assists in a 63-36 win over Glenn Hills on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Za’Miyah Jenkins, Josey girls’ basketball

Jenkins recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds in a 58-34 win over Washington County Friday night.

Kearstin Grant, South Aiken girls’ basketball

Grant scored 12 points in a 50-28 win over Richmond Academy on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Nate Cogle, Hephzibah boys’ basketball

Cogle recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds in a 57-50 win over Jefferson County Friday night. He also had five points and nine boards in a 57-53 win over Evans on Dec. 12.

Emma Kate Noegel, Aquinas girls’ basketball

Noegel scored 11 and eight points, respectively, in games against Washington-Wilkes and Towns County last week.

BJ Reese, Harlem boys’ basketball

Reese recorded 15 points and five rebounds in a 56-52 win over Lincoln County on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Da’Kylan Hill, Lakeside boys’ basketball

Hill recorded 17 points and 10 rebounds in an 83-70 win over Greenbrier on Tuesday, Dec. 12. He also had 10 points and eight boards in a 51-49 loss to North Augusta Friday night.

Ladontae Felton, South Aiken boys’ basketball

Felton recorded 15 points and five rebounds in a 74-52 loss to Richmond Academy on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Brayshawn Carter, Midland Valley boys’ basketball

Carter scored 16 points in a 109-46 loss to Lexington on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Gavin Fox, Westminster Schools of Augusta boys’ basketball

Fox scored 13 points in a 53-24 win over Mead Hall Episcopal on Friday night.

Norriyah Bradley, Aiken girls’ basketball

Bradley recorded 19 points and eight rebounds in a 60-40 win over Strom Thurmond on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Connor Cannon, Fox Creek boys’ basketball

Cannon scored 26 points and recorded eight rebounds in a 55-45 win over Calhoun Falls Charter on Thursday, Dec. 14.
