The leader of the Gaylord boys basketball team had another big scoring effort in a loss to Sault Ste Marie last week, ending with 32 points for his third straight 30+ point performance.

Karlee Pretzlaff, Gaylord girls basketball

New scorers are emerging for the Gaylord girls after losing Avery Parker for the season, at last week it was sophomore Karlee Pretzlaff taking the reigns of the offense. She had 17 points while shooting 5 of 8 from 3-point range in a loss to Midland while scoring 13 points in a win over Boyne City.

Payton Glasby, Gaylord St. Mary girls basketball

A week after a fellow GSM sophomore wins the AOTW, Glasby is up for the award for the third time this winter after finishing with 21 points and 13 rebounds in a conference victory over Onaway.

Grady Smith, Gaylord hockey

The Blue Devils hockey team is hoping to get back to their winning ways soon, currently on a three-game skid while only winning one game in the past 11 tries.

Still, the team has had performances worth celebrating, and one came in the team's 6-5 loss to Swan Valley as Grady Smith accounted for three assists in his first action since moving from defense to forward.

Jayden Marlatt, Johannesburg-Lewiston girls basketball

JoBurg continued its four-game winning streak with a 46-22 win over Central Lake on Thursday, Jan. 11 and Jayden Marlatt continues to be the catalyst of the success, leading the team with 17 points, 6 steals and 2 assists.
