WEEK 2 STANDOUTS: Gastonia, Shelby area high school football Week 2 top performers
Cleveland County Player of the Week
Jeremiah Norris, Burns
Norris received 57.2% of last week’s vote to claim top honors for Week 2 in Cleveland County. He rushed for 92 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 49-29 loss to Crest.
Gaston and Lincoln Player of the Week
Jaylin Winnex, West Lincoln
The Rebels’ junior standout received 62.2% of last week’s vote. During a Week 2 win at Cherryville, he rushed for 93 yards on four carries and three touchdowns, returned a punt 55 yards for a TD, as well as a 22-yard fumble return for a TD.
