It is time again to vote for the DC Roofing 321preps Athlete of the Week at 321preps.com and floridatoday.com.
The following athletes were nominated for their performances from May 6-11. You will find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Be sure to refresh if the poll isn't visible upon first loading. Voting will be open until noon on Thursday.
Please respect the integrity of the ballot. Restrict your voting to once an hour.
The last winner was Emma-Lea Cabral of Eau Gallie softball. Find a list of the 2023-24 winners at the bottom.
Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. E-mail the athlete's accomplishments for the previous Monday through Saturday to bmccallum@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. each Monday.
Here are this week's nominees:
Maya Collins, Holy Trinity track and field
At Region 2-1A, Collins won the 100 meters in 11.78 seconds, making her the No. 15 Florida 2024 performer, and won the 200 (24.66) and ran on the winning 4x100 relay.
Hannah Dollar, Bayside softball
Dollar had three RBIs, two hits, two runs, and one home run in the Bears' 10-0 win over American in the FHSAA regional quarterfinal win.
Dominic Leoni, Viera baseball
Leoni went 3-for-7 and drove in six runs in two FHSAA regional playoff victories last week, including an inside-the-park grand slam against East River.
Deaven McDonald, Heritage track and field
McDonald won the discus at the FHSAA Region 4-3A meet with a mark of 184 feet, 1 inch Wednesday in Miramar, the state's best mark this season.
Rylie Mecchella, Melbourne softball
Mecchella recorded two hits, four RBIs, and scored two runs for the Bulldogs in their 15-0 defeat of Dwyer in an FHSAA regional quarterfinal.
Keira Merrick, Satellite track and field
Merrick's win in the 800 meters at the Region 4-3A meet in Miramar came with the second-best time in the state this season, 2:09.73.
Haley Rider, Viera softball
Rider hit two home runs, driving in three base runners in a 5-0 FHSAA regional quarterfinal win over Seminole Ridge.
Tavon Simmons-Roberts, Cocoa track and field
Simmons-Roberts won the 110-meter hurdles at the FHSAA Region 2-2A meet Tuesday in 14.24 seconds, making him the sixth-fastest Florida performer this season.
Ralph Smith, Titusville track and field
Smith won the FHSAA Region 2-2A triple jump with a mark of 46 feet, 1/2 inch and the high jump (6-5 1/2) on Tuesday, and he was the long jump runner-up (23-5 1/4).
Evelyn VanZwieten, Merritt Island Christian track and field
VanZwieten won the javelin with a throw of 126 feet, 10 inches at the Region 2-1A meet and was second in the discus (120-11) and fourth in shot put.
Nick Wimberly, Merritt Island baseball
Wimberly struck out 10 Dunnellon batters in six innings and didn't allow a hit in a Mustangs regional quarterfinal win on Wednesday.
Justin Woulard, MCC track and field
At the Region 2-1A meet, Woulard won the long jump at 24 feet 1 1/2 inches, and was runner-up in the triple jump (46-0 3/4), 100 meters (10.68 seconds) and 200 meters (21.83).
