BATTLE CREEK - The B.O.B. is back!

B.O.B. stands for the Best Of Battle Creek. Each week throughout the spring, we are going to ask, "Who is the Best Of Battle Creek?" as we look at each position in baseball and softball among the city and area high school teams.

Nominations for each position come from the area baseball and softball coaches with a little information on each player, and then it will be up to the Enquirer readers to decide who is the B.O.B.?

Why she is the best outfielder in the Battle Creek area: A three-time All-City selection and all-league pick, Rylee Altman is a four-year starter in centerfield. Her playing experience provides good leadership for a young team and she is an offensive weapon in the No. 2 spot in the lineup, hitting .395 with a .509 on-base percentage.

Class: Sophomore

Why she is the best outfielder in the Battle Creek area: A two-year starter at centerfield as a sophomore, Brooklyn Berning has only committed one error over the last two seasons combined. An All-City selection as a freshman, she bats in the No. 2 hole for the Spartans, hitting .388 with 30 runs scored.
