It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.
Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week for Jan. 15-21. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.
All athletes who play on Section V boys teams are eligible to be nominated.

Maxwell Braithwaite
A senior at Webster Thomas who won the weight throw competition during a Monroe County league indoor track league meet. His throw of 58 feet-5 1/4 inches is third-best this season in Section V.
Peyton Conner
The Gananda swim star won the 200 free and 500 free during an 87-50 win over Midlakes on Tuesday to improve to 9-2.

Connor Emens
The McQuaid defenseman scored midway through overtime to help the Knights complete four-goal comeback against rival Aquinas.

Brayden Masclee
The Fairport bowling star rolled the high series of the MLK Tournament with a 1,464. He also shot a 258 high-game.

Jake Passalugo
The Fairport senior, a candidate for AGR boys cross country runner of the year during fall 2023, won the 3,200-meter race during a Monroe County league indoor track meet. His time of 9 minutes, 37.42 seconds met the standard for the state championships and is the third-fastest on the Section V season leaderboard.
Gennaro Picco
Hornell's star basketball player became the program's all-time leading scorer during an 81-38 win over Pavilion. Picco scored 18 points in the win, but only needed three points to surpass Hornell's previous career standard of 1,375.

Jaden Simmons
A senior on the Edison Tech/School Without Walls indoor track team, who long jumped 22 feet-2 1/4 inches during a Rochester Winter Track League indoor track meet. Simmons is now third on the season's Section V leaderboard.
Cameron Stewart
The Hilton hockey sophomore recorded a hat trick and one assist to push the Cadets to a 5-4 victory over defending Class B section champion Webster Schroeder.
Will Vitale
The Brighton sophomore ran the fourth-fastest 55-meter dash (6.52 seconds) of the season in Section V during a Monroe County league indoor track meet at Rochester Institute of Technology.
