It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week for May 6-May 12. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V boys teams are eligible to be nominated.

Keisel Cuevas

A sophomore on the Wilson baseball team, he struck out 14 batters during a start that lasted eight innings and was 2 for 5 and scored a run during the same game. He also earned a save in another game when he struck out three batters.

Alex Heywood

The Honeoye Falls-Lima tennis star won his singles match in straight sets in HF-L's 7-0 win over Greece Athena/Odyssey.

Keagan Hoesterey

Pal-Mac’s offensive leader posted 8 assists along with a pair of goals in the team’s non-league win against Section III’s Rome Free Academy. Hoesterey is currently Section V’s leader in points (112) and assists (75).

Rob LaDuca

The Spencerport golf star won the MCPSAC tournament Thursday at the par 72 Eagle Vale Golf Course. LaDuca shot a tournament low 75, winning by one stroke. LaDuca shot an even par 36 on the back nine in the comeback victory.

Eric Odell

Greece Storm’s FOGO went 20-for-22 at the faceoff X in the team’s victory over Wayne on Saturday.

Michael Prentice

Wayne senior is on two teams this spring. He drove in 2 runs, scored 2 runs, was 2 for 6 and stole a base over two baseball games last week. He then won the 400-meter dash in 49.77 seconds during the Lancer Invitational at Eastridge.

Jameson Ricigliano

Victor senior drove in three runs and had four hits during a pair of victories for the Blue Devils.

Alex Spezzano

LeRoy baseball player pitched 2 complete games (14 innings) drove in 3 runs, finished with 6 hits, scored a run and struck out five batters as he closed a game to help the Oatkan Knights build a six-game winning streak.

Aksel Stanat

Stanat, a senior at Brighton, helped the Bruins to three wins last week with 11 total goals. He now has 37 tallies on the season.
