It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week for Jan. 22-28. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V boys teams are eligible to be nominated.

Isaiah Ballard

The Irondequoit basketball star scored 24 points and pulled down 25 rebounds during the Eagles' 63-56 win at Eastridge.

Patrick Emling

The Penfield basketball star dropped 30 points during a 58-55 win over visiting Fairport on Wednesday.

Nathaniel Fisher

Brockport senior won the 3,200-meter race in 9 minutes, 27.67 seconds at a Monroe County league meet. This is the second-fastest time of the indoor track season in Section V.

Jackson Fix

The Byron-Bergen swim star won the 100 free (47.95) and 100 back (54.83) during the Genesee Region Athletic Association Championship meet Friday.

Thomas Herman

The Penfield goaltender made 22 saves in a shutout win over Adirondack on Friday, marking the second time in three games he’s blanked his opponent. Hermann has won five straight starts, allowing two goals or less in each game, and owns a 12-4-0 record with a 2.32 GAA and .908 save percentage.

Owen Lawrence

The Alfred-Almond swim star won the 50 free (23.35), 100 free (51.66) and joined Matt Goho, Andrew Diestler and Patrick Power on the winning 400 free relay (3:41.62) at the Steuben County Swim Championships on Friday at Addison Central. Alfred-Almond won the team championship.

De'Andre Leonard

A senior on the Franklin/Northeast/School of the Arts/World of Inquiry indoor track team won a 55-meter hurdles race in 7.86. He is second on the Section V season leaderboard.

Brayden Masclee

The Fairport bowling star rolled a 268 high game and 754 high series against Webster Schroeder on Friday.

Parker Miller

The Clyde-Savannah bowling star rolled a 204 high game and 599 high series against Waterloo on Thursday.

George Newsome

The Palmyra-Macedon swim star was named Outstanding Performer of the Meet at the Finger Lakes League Invitational on Saturday. Newsome was a double winner in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle (4:52.48), qualifying for states in the latter event.

Nicholas Sellitto

The Webster Schroeder forward recorded the game-winning goal in the third period of Tuesday’s victory over Canandaigua, then had a 3-goal, 3-assist effort in an 8-3 win over Churchville-Chili on Friday. One of Sellitto’s goals en route to the hat trick came with Schroeder defending a penalty kill.

Tyrell Simmons

The University Prep senior high jumped 6 feet-6 inches — the second best mark in Section V this indoor track season — during a Rochester Winter Track League meet.

Oren Welch

A senior on the Marion/Gananda indoor track team, he jumped 13 feet-9 inches during the Wayne-Finger Lakes Division 2 Championships to put him third on the Section V season leaderboard.
