Von Miller ranked too low on NFL top 100

Denver Broncos superstar pass-rusher Von Miller is the league’s best defensive player not named J.J. Watt. As such, you’d think he’d warrant higher than the 15th spot on the NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2016.

Miller, as you may remember, was the MVP of the playoffs. He single handedly destroyed Tom Brady in the AFC Championship game and completely embarrassed Cam Newton, even though nobody thought Denver was going to win the Super Bowl.

Aaron Donald, Khalik Mack, Carson Palmer and Josh Norman all finished higher than Miller on the list. I can understand and Mack Norman, but I don’t understand the other two, given all Miller’s done already in his career.

Donald and Von Miller each had 11 sacks, but Donald’s played just two seasons in the NFL compared to Miller’s five. Also, did anybody else see how Carson Palmer performed in the playoffs as opposed to Miller? That should have had a play in the rankings.

Miller is far and away a top-10 player in the NFL. We all know Tom Brady will be in the top 10 this year, but I’d say that Von Miller is better. Even Pro Football Focus would agree with me. They ranked him as the seventh-best player from 2015.

They did actually rank Donald first overall as the top player from 2015, followed by Antonio Brown, Luke Kuechly, Rob Gronkowski, J.J. Watt and Khalil Mack.

We have to remember, these NFL top 100 player countdowns are voted by the players themselves, so maybe they didn’t vote Miller in the top 10 because, well, which team has he not destroyed?
