Vikings vs Commanders staff preview and predictions

Could the Vikings improve to 7-1 on the season? That certainly seems likely at this point. The Vikings are currently 3.5-point favorites over the Washington Commanders per Tipico Sportsbook.

The game features two quarterback revenge stories, as Kirk Cousins returns to Washington for the first time and Taylor Heinicke makes his first start against his first NFL team.

The game itself should be a good one, as it kicks off at noon on Fox. We gave our preview and predictions for the game with Bryan Manning of Commanders Wire and all three of us are in agreement.

Prediction: Vikings 21, Commanders 17

Bryan Manning-Commanders Wire Managing Editor

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke (4) spikes the ball after a game-tying touchdown Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, during a game against the Indianapolis Colts at Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Both teams are on winning stress. However, neither team is blowing anyone out. Everything is a one-score game. I would expect a similar outcome Sunday. Ultimately, I think Jefferson is the difference-maker in this one.

Prediction: Vikings 24, Commanders 20
