Vikings lose to the Giants, NFC North’s season is now done

The only team from the NFC North division to qualify for the postseason had a short playoff stay. The division champion Minnesota Vikings lost at home in the wild card round, falling to the New York Giants 31-24 on Sunday evening.

Minnesota won the division at 13-4 but sputtered a bit down the stretch. That includes a 34-23 loss in Week 11 to the Lions in Detroit. The Vikings went 11-0 in one-score games in the regular season but lost in a one-score game to the Giants in the postseason.

And with that, the NFC North’s season is officially complete. The Vikings draft slot currently sits at No. 24 overall, and their second-round pick is No. 56. The Lions own that pick as a result of the midseason trade involving TE T.J. Hockenson.
