Vikings bolster the OL, sign veteran offensive tackle
The Minnesota Vikings have found a solution to bolster their offensive line depth. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo, the Vikings are signing offensive tackle David Quessenberry to the active roster.
The Vikings only kept eight offensive lineman on the initial 53-man roster with Chris Reed staying on the non-football injury list. That signaled the Vikings were going to take action in addressing the offensive line quickly.
Quessenberry is 32 years old and was a sixth-round pick in the 2013 NFL draft by the Houston Texans. He didn’t play a game until the 2017 season with the Texans.
He started all 17 games in 2021 with the Tennessee Titans, including a grade of 79.1 overall. Quessenberry joined the Buffalo Bills last season and played 16 games with three starts. He had a PFF grade of 59.3 with a pass-blocking grade of 62.3 and run-blocking grade of 53.7.
This brings the Vikings’ offensive line room up to nine players with three of them able to play tackle.
