Wembanyama showcases why he’s the projected no. 1 overall draft pick I The Rush

The Colts beat the Broncos in perhaps the ugliest game of football in modern times, Victor Wembanyama again showed us why he’s projected to go number one overall in next year’s draft and why some are calling him a ‘generational talent,’ and LeBron James made his desire to own a team in Las Vegas crystal clear.

- And the kick is right down the middle.

MINTY BETS: What happens when you put the projected top two picks on a basketball court together, one of whom is being called a generational talent?

- Fireworks!

MINTY BETS: Oh, indeed. And the hype lived up to its billing. Victor Wembanyama and the Metropolis 92 from France came over to the US to play Scoot Henderson and the G League Ignite for two exhibition games. And to say both guys impressed in the first game is an understatement.

- Ralph Sampson. We did see it in the 80s. We didn't see it often, but we did see it.

- Henderson showing off the handles, reverse, finishes over Wembanyama!

MINTY BETS: Wembanyama finished that game with 37 points and 5 blocks, making seven 3-pointers. Scoot was also impressive, going for 28 points and 9 assists. Unfortunately, we were robbed of another match-up between these two on Thursday.

The projected number two overall pick in Henderson had to leave 5 minutes into the game, suffering a bone bruise after colliding with Wembanyama. And just so you know how painful that might have been, Wembanyama is 7 foot 4 inches.

- What did you say?

MINTY BETS: Yes, 7'4". And he moves and shoots like a guard which. Is why he's the projected number one overall pick in next year's draft, and why he's being called a generational talent by guys like LeBron James.

LEBRON JAMES: He's for sure a generational talent, and hopefully he continues to stay healthy. That's what's most important.

MINTY BETS: Wembanyama brought it in the second game, too, with another 36 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. By now, we've seen all the predictions for historic tanking about to take place to land these guys, especially Wembanyama.

- Obvi.

LEBRON JAMES: But I have to wonder if LeBron is playing a longer game with his praise for the 7'4" prospect.

- Probably.

MINTY BETS: LeBron is as good at business as he is in basketball, and he's got his post-playing project clearly lined up. In an interview with reporters in Vegas, LeBron was asked about bringing an NBA team to Sin City.

LEBRON JAMES: Yeah, I would love to bring a team here at some point. That would be amazing.

MINTY BETS: In fact, LeBron wants this so badly, he's been stalking the movements of NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

LEBRON JAMES: I know Adam is in Abu Dhabi right now, I believe. I want the team here, Adam. Thank you.

MINTY BETS: As a resident of Vegas I endorse this move 200%. So get on it, Mr. Silver! But back to my theory. If Victor Wembanyama pans out like everyone hopes and expects, he could hit free agency at a time when LeBron and his Vegas team are in prime position to sign the generational talent.

- Go on.

MINTY BETS: And there couldn't be many more enticing situations than a team in Las Vegas being run by--

- LeBron James!

MINTY BETS: I have no idea if LeBron is thinking that far ahead. But I also have no idea he isn't thinking that far ahead, either. Just saying.
