The Rush: Mahomes finds last-minute magic in KC’s win over Raiders

The NBA made headlines all weekend with free agency and trades, but the NFL refused to be outdone with a slate of outstanding Sunday games. Patrick Mahomes made magic in the final minute of the Chiefs’ win over the Raiders, Taysom Hill made Sean Payton look good in the Saints’ win against the Falcons, the Browns are certifiably better than the Patriots, and the Cowboys are just a half game out of first place the NFC East after an exciting showdown with the Vikings. PLUS: Bengals rookie Joe Burrow tears his ACL, the Titans and Colts get big overtime wins, the Jets are 0 and 10 while the Steelers are 10 and 0, and on a roll.

- Great protection again. Mahomes to the end zone. Wide open touchdown, Kelce.

JARED QUAY: The Chiefs beating their divisional rival Raiders wasn't the only interesting thing this weekend.

- --here. Bell, can he get to the end zone? Yes, he can. Touchdown.

JARED QUAY: Not by a long shot. In the NBA, a whole lot of dudes made a [BLEEP] ton of money via free agency or trade.

- There's just so many, I just can't keep track.

JARED QUAY: I guess the NFL couldn't stand another league getting all the attention on Friday and Saturday because they put on a show yesterday. When Sean Payton announced that Taysom Hill would be the starting quarterback instead of Jameis Winston to replace the injured Drew Brees, it seemed like the entire country was yelling--

- Terrible idea.

JARED QUAY: But for at least one Sunday, we were all wrong. Hill led the Saints to an impressive victory over the Falcons in his first ever NFL start under center.

- In for the touchdown!

JARED QUAY: Now that will silence the haters.

- Shh!

JARED QUAY: OK, I'll admit, I hated on the Browns earlier this year.

- Because they suck?

JARED QUAY: Yep. But now Cleveland is 7 and 3. And on the flip side, the Patriots are 4 and 6. Yo, 2020 is wild.

- Like in the upside down?

JARED QUAY: Exactly, Will Byers. But that wasn't all. Cowboys and Vikings put on a show.

- To the end zone. The catch was made by Thielen. It's ruled a touchdown.

JARED QUAY: Dallas is now a half a game out of first place in their terrible division after sealing the deal against Minnesota. We saw overtime thrillers as the Colts pulled off a W against Aaron Rodgers' Packers and Derrick Henry did this to lift the Titans over my Ravens.

- Henry getting free. Henry's gonna end the game! Titans take it in overtime.

JARED QUAY: Unfortunately, my man Joe Burrow tore his ACL, and the Bengals lost to the Football Team.

- No!

JARED QUAY: It's a tough break for this year's number one overall draft pick. My guy Joe is savvy as hell though, scooping everybody, tweeting out this before the game even ended.

Now in case you were wondering, the Jets are 0 and 10. Finally, some normalcy in 2020. Now I'm not about to leave you on no sad note. No, no, no, I'm leaving you with some highlights from the 10 and 0 Steelers. Go ahead and roll them, Wes.

- You think this is a new phase of the offense?

- I do. I think it's an extra phase to the offense.

- Deep shot caught! Touchdown, Claypool! 10 touchdowns in 10 career games for Chase Claypool.

Luton, deep drop. Steps up. Uncorks the deep ball. It's intercepted. For Edmunds, he's got his second of the day.
