TANK WILLIAMS: Whenever people talk about KJ Hamler, one of the first words out of their mouths is, he's gone! Hamler is a 5' 9", 178 pound crowd pleaser who places extreme stress on defenses, coverage units, and ligaments with the ball in his hand.
Now on the upside, Hamler's quicks make him a match-up nightmare in the slot, and they're going to have to catch levels up a team. Big play opportunities on gadget plays and in the return game.
Now on the downside, Hamler's route-running and ball-tracking need some refinement, and his smaller frame presents high injury risk too.
Now Hamler's size, speed, and skill set reminds me of Tavon Austin, which could also ding him with teams. Though Tavon has rare skills, he hasn't been a consistent playmaker in the league. And that could throw some serious hate on Hamler's draft stop.
