Verizon honors first responders with 'Team That Wouldn't Be Here' documentary
The difference between life and death can come down to having the right person by your side at the right time. Twelve NFL stars owe their lives to first responders who were there at the most crucial of moments, and a new documentary from Verizon honors those responders.
Directed by Matthew Ogens and executive-produced by Peter Berg (“Friday Night Lights,” “Mile 22”), the documentary traces the stories of several NFL stars, including Clay Matthews and A.J. McCarron. Each of the 12 players faced a devastating moment in their lives — accidents, natural disasters and other critical incidents — and each survived because of the timely intervention of first responders.
“The Team That Wouldn’t Be Here” stands as the centerpiece of Verizon’s “All Our Thanks” campaign designed to recognize the crucial role first responders play in our lives at their worst moments. An initial teaser premiered during the Super Bowl, and the full documentary is online now.
