Vanderbilt basketball will face Pittsburgh, the first of two ACC opponents on its schedule this season, Wednesday at Memorial Gymnasium.
The Panthers (6-3) have struggled since hiring away former Commodores coach Kevin Stallings, but they've shown some improvement at the outset in 2022 with wins over NC State and Northwestern, both on the road. They have losses to West Virginia, VCU and Michigan.
The Commodores are coming off a win over Wofford by a score of 65-62 without Jordan Wright, who is questionable for the game with back spasms. This game, and a Dec. 17 contest with NC State, are their best remaining opportunities to bank a good nonconference win before the start of conference play.
