Vanderbilt baseball live score updates vs. Auburn in SEC-opening series

Vanderbilt baseball has won 10 straight games against Auburn at Hawkins Field.

The Commodores' streak dates to 2012. They won two of three that season, then swept home series in 2016 and 2019 before sweeping again over the weekend.

Vanderbilt (18-3, 3-0 SEC) extended its 13-game winning streak, the longest active in the SEC, by winning all three games against the Tigers (13-6, 0-3). The Commodores won 11-1 on Friday, 13-5 on Saturday and 9-6 on Sunday.

There was also some good news on the injury front, as Jack Bulger and Camden Kozeal also returned from injuries. Bulger played in the Friday and Sunday games and Kozeal played on Saturday.

Vanderbilt baseball vs. Auburn: Game results

Friday: Carter Holton pitched seven innings, allowing only one run with one walk and nine strikeouts, to lead Vanderbilt to an 11-1 run-rule win Friday night.

Jayden Davis was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, including a triple. Alan Espinal and Calvin Hewett also had two hits apiece, and Jonathan Vastine had three RBIs. The game-ending run came in the eighth inning as Davis scored on a passed ball.

Saturday: Vanderbilt won 13-5 thanks to a total of 10 hits from the top three hitters in its order. Alan Espinal reached base six times, with four hits and two walks, while Davis Diaz and RJ Austin added on three hits apiece. Bryce Cunningham pitched five innings, allowing three runs (one earned) while Miller Green, Alex Kranzler and Ryan Ginther finished things out in the late innings to clinch the series.

Sunday: The Commodores pounded out 17 hits for the second straight game in the 9-6 win. Despite Devin Futrell giving up five runs in five innings, Vanderbilt chipped away at an early 4-0 deficit before rallying to take the lead with a Jayden Davis two-run double in the sixth inning.

Jonathan Vastine went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and Matthew Polk went 3-for-4. Four other players recorded two hits in the contest.

On the pitching side, Greysen Carter pitched three innings, allowing one run with four strikeouts, and Ryan Ginther earned the save with a scoreless ninth.
