USC prepares for Thursday showdown vs Arizona, huge road trip against both Arizona schools

USC would love to sweep the Arizona schools on this upcoming road trip to Tucson and Tempe. The Trojans face the Arizona Wildcats on Thursday before visiting the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday. If USC can split these two games, it will be a successful road trip for coach Andy Enfield’s team.

We talked to the AZ Desert Swarm website, which covers Arizona Wildcat sports for SB Nation, about Thursday’s USC-Arizona game. We also discussed the state of the Trojans and the significance of this road swing through the state of Arizona.

Here are the important points to emphasize heading into this road trip:

“USC is squarely on the bubble,” we told AZ Desert Swarm. “We’re grateful to Arizona for beating Arizona State. The Sun Devils would be an NCAA Tournament lock if they had beaten the U of A, but the Wildcats came through. If USC can beat ASU and UCLA beats the Sun Devils as well, USC and ASU would be very close in terms of the overall bubble/at-large picture. That’s a result USC would take in a heartbeat.

We added that “If USC can win in Tempe on Saturday against ASU, that would make for a successful Arizona road trip. I’d sign on the dotted line right now if that scenario was offered.”
