Upstate's top performers and coaching milestones this week in high school athletics

Here are some of the Upstate’s standout performers in high school athletics from Jan. 8-15.

It was a week of coaching milestones as well. Woodmont girls basketball coach Tim Morris earned his 400th career victory, while J.L. Mann coach girls coach Lamont Wakefield and Landrum boys coach Lyn Smith both reached 350 career wins on the same night.

This is a growing list each week and coaches are encouraged to nominate players and send stats by email to todd.shanesy@shj.com or by direct message on X, formerly Twitter, to @ToddShanesySHJ.

Athletes are listed alphabetically by school. There will be a readers’ vote for players of the week..
