Updated NIC-10 playoff stats and playoff schedule: Hono's Cole Warren closing in on record

Javius Catlin didn't play last week, but the NIC-10's all-time leading rusher clinched his first seasonal rushing title when Harlem and Jahmani Muhammad were eliminated from the playoffs.

TJ Horton moved up into the top 10 in receiving with 165 yards in a 56-12 loss to Hononegah. That ranks second in Auburn history, only four yards shy of Davonte Standfield, who set the record in another loss to Hononegah, 57-34 four years ago.

We have a new passing leader this week, with Boylan's Connor Dennis throwing for a career-high 269 yards to pass Hononegah's Cole Warren. But Warren, with five touchdown passes on only eight throws, put himself in position to grab one of the league's prize records.

Warren now has 23 TD passes, five behind the season mark of 28 set by Hononegah's Payton Mather in 2019. And both have a good chance to become only the 10th (or 10th and 11th) quarterbacks in league history to throw for 2,000 yards in a season as they lead their teams into the second round of the playoffs Saturday.

Here are our updated large-school Rockford-area football stats (the NIC-10 plus Rochelle) after the first round of the playoffs for the 2023 season:
