Here’s what uniform combo BYU will wear at Texas

BYU Cougars linebacker Chaz Ah You (3) plays against Baylor during an NCAA college football game on Oct. 16, 2021, in Waco, Texas. The Cougars will wear a similar uniform combo when they play at Texas this weekend.

After three straight weeks of royal blue-centric uniforms, BYU is turning to the navy look for its matchup at No. 7 Texas.

The Cougars’ social media team shared the uniform combo BYU will wear when it faces the Longhorns on Saturday in Austin, Texas.

The Cougars will wear a navy helmet — with white stretch Y logo and white face mask — along with white jersey and navy pants.

The last time BYU wore a similar look — navy helmet with white stretch Y logo, white jersey and navy pants — came in 2021, when the Cougars played at Baylor in a 38-24 BYU loss.

At this look from the promotional photo, though, the Cougars’ helmet this time appears to have a glossy finish, whereas BYU had a matte finish on its helmet against Baylor.

This time, the Cougars will have a white face mask, which is a first with this particular uniform combination, according to BYU uniform tracker.

BYU will face Texas at 1:30 p.m. MDT on Saturday in a game televised on ABC. It’s the first time that the Cougars will play in Austin since 2014, when Taysom Hill and BYU beat the Longhorns 41-7.
