Undefeated Troup moves up 1 spot in AP/Texas Football weekly poll

Oct. 2—Following last week's 43-22 triumph over Quitman in its district opener, the Troup High School football team have moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest Associated Press/Texas Football Class 3A-II poll, which was released early Monday afternoon.

Head coach Sam Wells' Tigers are 5-0, 1-0 in district, heading into a date with Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Tiger Stadium.

Gunter (5-0), Canadian (5-0) and Tidehaven (5-0) are the top three teams in Class 3A-II this week.

Hooks (5-0) and Newton (4-0) are the remaining two clubs that are ranked ahead of the Tigers.

Rounding out the top 10 are Poth, Bells, Holliday and Littlefield.
