UNC set to play in 2024 Maui Invitational

The North Carolina Tar Heels are expected to return to Maui for the annual Maui Invitational in 2024 per a report. College Hoops Today’s Jon Rothstein is reporting that UNC will headline the 8-team field for the annual event and will be joined by Dayton, UCONN, Michigan State, Iowa State, Memphis, and Colorado. The eighth team in the field is yet to be determined per the report.
The official field will be revealed at a future date.
This will be the 8th trip for the Tar Heels in the event, winning four titles and finishing runner-up three other times. They last played in the event during the 2020 season but that was held in Asheville, North Carolina due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tar Heels have already scheduled Hawaii on their 2024 schedule for November, and when that happens it means they are planning on being in the Maui Invitational. Adding that non-conference game while out there makes a lot of sense.
