UNC football adds NFL coaching veteran Clyde Christensen, five others to staff

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye will get some more coaching help going into his second season as a starter. And it’s a coach that has worked with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in the past.

Head coach Mack Brown has added Clyde Christensen as a volunteer offensive analyst for the upcoming season. Christensen has worked with Brady and Manning, spending his time most recently with Tampa Bay. He will work with offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey.

In addition to Christensen, Brown has added Ted Monachino as a senior defensive analyst, Ty Greenwood as a defensive analyst, and Jamael Lett as a special teams analyst. Jay Clements and Cam Spence join as graduate assistants.

Clements comes to UNC from North Texas and will work with the offensive line while Spence joins from Ohio State on the defensive line.

Full bios for each coaching assistant to be added can be found on UNC’s website.

The Tar Heels will continue on with Spring practices ahead of the Spring Game on April 15th. UNC is building toward a strong 2023 season, hoping to build on last year’s hot start before going on a losing streak to end the season.
